Best Remedy Card Kit
Pretty Hydrangea on Vellum
Hydrangeas are such gorgeous flowers and did you know that the soil they grow in determines the colour? Where we live the soil has a lot of clay in it so ours are typically more pink than blue. I was reading that gardeners have reported success with turning them blue by adding coffee grounds. How interesting! My success is with flowers on paper - no soil needed - so I made mine with Blushing Bride cardstock and loads of pearls for effect. The soft layer behind the flower on today's card is printed vellum called Vellum Basics. I think that adds just the right touch!

Cheery Best Wishes
Who wouldn't want to receive this cheery card? This pattern from the Regency Park paper pack is a perfect match to the flowers in the Petal Park stamp set/punch bundle. In coming weeks I'll show cards not stamped so be sure to get the punch even on its own for layered flowers.

Watercolor World with Greatest Journey
Looking on my stamp shelf, I found a stamp (or two or three) which hadn't been inked up yet. Does that ever happen to you? I'll bet it does! So this past weekend I cracked open the Watercolor World background stamp. I found it paired nicely with this greeting from Greatest Journey and the die cut silhouette runner. Love how it turned out with "earthy" colours of Soft Succulent, Basic Black and Balmy Blue. Love how it turned out!

Big Deal
Did you know Stampin' Up! has a whale punch? I'd forgotten about this guy! The Whale Done stamp set has fun greetings like "You're kind of a BIG DEAL" used here and this all coordinates nicely with the Seashells 3D Embossing folder, right? I punched out a decorative circle from the embossed layer and put vellum behind it to soften the Pacific Point blue layer that peeks through. He's darn cute, I must say!

Forever Fern
Later this week, Stampin' Up! will release news to demonstrators on which colours will retire as we undergo a Colour Refresh. It's always exciting to get new colours but see some of our favourites leave is bittersweet. In line with this announcement, I put a challenge out to my team this month to post projects featuring colours they hope will continue with the refresh. Here are my faves: Pear Pizzazz (I'll be completely lost if this goes!), Old Olive and So Saffron. Fun fact....Old Olive and So Saffron have been in the line as long as I've been a demonstrator, 13 years this November!

Oh the Places In Your Heart!
This card reminds me of the many beautiful moments I have with Allistair, my grandson. He's growing up SO fast and is actually 9 months old today. He won't fit in our arms like this much longer. Being a parent has been the single most wonderful aspect of my life and now adding a grandchild I know I am fully blessed. Happy 9 months little one!

Embossing Folder Tips & Tricks!
I always love learning new tricks and tips...especially when I can use the tools I've invested in for new and different purposes! For tonight's What's Up Wednesday, we looked at the best way to use Standard and 3D embossing folders with your Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine or similar die cutting machine. As well, how to emboss a piece of paper that's wider or longer than the folder without a seam showing! How amazing is that?

I'd be Lost Without You
This is a new bundle in my stash....On the Ocean. Love, love, love the wave dies. These I did with vellum cardstock and affixed them to the patterned paper using our Adhesive Sheets to hide the adhesive. The patterned paper is from By the Bay with some perfect colours and images to use with nautical themed projects. This paper comes in 6" x 6" which is awesome for cardmakers like us. Enjoy!

Four cards in a Hot Minute with the One Sheet Wonder layout!
Ever needs cards in a jiffy? Then the One-Sheet-Wonder layout is for you! Tuck this one away! These four cards were made featuring one sheet of 6" x 6" patterned paper, one stamp set and one embellishment - say what?
Start with a 6" x 6". Cut 2" off the right and 2" off the bottom. That leaves you with 3 pieces:
- One piece measuring 4" x 4". Cut this on the diagonal to create two triangles.
- One piece measuring 2" x 6". Cut to 2" x 5 1/4". Discard the 3/4" x 2" left over piece.
- One piece measuring 2" x 4".

Colour Coordination the Easy Way: Pick a patterned paper pack
Do you like to colour your stamped images? Here's a stamp set that's perfect for that with beautiful imagery: Places in the Heart. I've used Watercolor pencils and blender pen to add the colours chosen from the patterned paper. That's a super easy way to decide on what cardstock/inks/embellishments to purchase - go with one Suite or patterned paper and you'll be all coordinated up. Enjoy!

Sweet Citrus: more than just oranges!
Oh this Sweet Citrus bundle is more than just oranges: Experiment with yellows, pinks and greens for lemons, grapefruits and limes! Isn't this card fresh looking? You can almost taste the pink grapefruit from Florida. The embossing folder in this bundle is a hybrid. What does that mean? The embossing folder has a corresponding die so you may perfectly cut out the embossed images. Each catalogue we've been offering one of these hybrid combos and I am so glad I have this one!

A reminder that you are loved
I received this sweet card from my friend Laurie Larose in Alberta who has been a demonstrator for over 20 years! Laurie joined when the company first came to Canada. And I thought I'd been around a long time... Laurie has expertly put together this card to feature a lot of different products such as the Rays of Light background stamp, Framed Florets Bundle for the oval, flowers and leaves and the darling elephant from Elephant Parade. We all need a little reminder that we are loved...so here's yours! xo

Give those letters a lift with Foam Adhesive Sheets
During What's Up Wednesday, I shared two ways to add a great lift to your die cuts - especially letters. These are the Alphabet a la Mode dies with the full alphabet - and some duplicate letters to make the job easier - and numbers plus a few other tidbits in the set.
There are two ways shown on how to add height to your die cut letters. First, using the Adhesive Foam Sheets. These are a 4" x 4 1/2" full panel "dimensional" that you add to cardstock/paper before die cutting. Our dies cut right through the paper (even foil!) and the foam sheet. Here's how that card turned out:
Here how that card turned out:
I hope you'll give these options a try. To order, see page 127 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue for both products: Foam Adhesive Sheets #152815 for $11 and Adhesive Sheets #152334 for $15.

Die cut your patterned paper - why yes!
Did you know that many of our dies also cut out images from their coordinating patterned papers? So....while I'm "sure" you were thinking I stamped, coloured and embossed the flower and leaf below, the patterned paper makes me look that good!

For you, Friend!
Isn't this a pretty card for March? Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow were used to make my own patterned paper. It's called the Collage Technique and is a great way to use your stamps - especially the smaller ones that come in a set. Often we get a set for the greetings or the one big stamp because it's a great addition to our stash. And then forget about the little ones in there. This beauty is from the Love For You bundle class I held end January. For you, friend!

Holy Guacamole!
Getting swap cards in the mail is such "Happy" mail...you receive a card often made with a stamp set or in a style you wouldn't have thought of. Such as it was with this Holy Guacamole card from Lisa Henderson for our Jan-April Mini swap. I'm impressed with how well these all lined up for a collaged background. This is a great card for my son-in-law who loves tacos. Any other taco lovers out there?
