Happy Hallowe’en!
Another 3D craft item for stocking stuffers and little gifties for your friends, family members and co-workers. This is a simple 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" notepad from the dollar store. Just measure a piece of cardstock to fit on the front and decorate a way! I will make up a few of these to have on hand to give away to brighten someone’s day and keep them in my own car for when I need to write a note. Give it a go!
With Hallowe’en behind us later this week, it’s full on Christmas creating, am I right? And “oh what fun!” we will have. Today’s card is a great pairing of the Merry & Bright patterned paper and coordinating stamp set with a string of lights in Granny Apple Green. What a cute Christmas card. Enjoy!
Have you ever made a 3D project? How about this cute folder for a bookmark, treat or in this case, a 6” ruler. I received this delightful one in a swap in Vegas-baby. It’s super easy to make.
I really love this card layout – it’s just my style! A great way to use up scraps and pull your colour palette from a patterned paper design. In this case, it’s Winter Meadow Patterned Paper with Blueberry Bushel, Basic White and Lost Lagoon. The two pieces of patterned paper (shown vertically) are also embossed for a weathered look. The embossing folder on the Basic White layer is Distressed Tile 3D and you must get this while it’s still available. So versatile!
Card base: 8 ½” x 5 ½” in Blueberry Bushel
Inside layer: 4” x 5 ¼” in Basic White
Embossed layer: 4” x 5 ¼” in Basic White
Patterned Paper layers: 1 ½” x 4” and 7/8” x 4 ¾”
Horizontal cardstock layers: 1/8” x 4” and 3/8” x 4”
Scrap: Basic White and Lost Lagoon for die cutting the leaves and circle

Today’s card reminds me of skiing in Vermont as a teenager. Not that we ever road in a gondola, but skiing down between the trees! The trees are all one stamp – the Fragrant Forest background stamp. It stamps one full layer so grab your favourite dies to trim it to the size you’d like. This one was made with the Deckled Rectangles dies. And don’t throw away the cast offs – add them to the bottom or the right of the inside layer to continue the pattern. So lovely!
Card base: 8 ½” x 5 ½” in Old Olive
Front layers: Cut two with nesting Deckled Rectangles. Stamp on one and layer
on the other!
Inside layer: Either 4” x 5 ¼” or another Deckled Rectangle about that size.
Slap your cast off stamp image either to the bottom or the right.
Scrap: Basic Black, Mossy Meadow, Real Red and Silver Foil paper for the gondola
and tree!

Like the look of stained glass? I think it’s so perfect here on a traditional holiday card! Check out the inside messages, too! Get creative with your card layouts and try a different one. I keep a box with some of my favourite layouts so when I’m stumped, I have a pre-planned layout ready to copy.
Today's card doesn't have coordinating dies so is a very affordable stamp set that packs a wow with a variety of images. The stained glass Santa was stamped in versamark then heat embossed with gold emboss powder. The white remains and colour in the other areas with your Real Red, Lost Lagoon and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. The image was then punched out with the 2 3/8" Circle Punch. What a great effect, right?
Card base: 7 ¼” wide by 5 ½” tall in Real Red
Front flap layer: 2 ¾” wide by 5 ¼” tall in Basic White
Front flap layer: 2 5/8” wide by 5 1/8” tall in Patterned Paper

Traditional Christmas colours of greens and reds using a duplicatable layout! I was shopping on the weekend with the family and we were thinking...hmmm...Christmas decorations long before Hallowe'en? Yes indeed! It's a short season folks, get started if you haven't already! This card's features the take home bundle I'm using for my October bundle class: Christmas Classics.
It's fun to use dies in a way not originally intended. On today's card Chris Smith added 3 H's from the Alphabet A La Mode dies to the lightbulbs to write out Ho-Ho-Ho. How cute is that? And that string of lights to the right interlocks beautifully to pop off the Granny Apple Green card base. Love this one - thanks, Chris!

Oh how beautiful is this card shared with me by Christine Dionne? This is the Fractured Card layout and the colours are stunning together with shades of Moody Mauve, Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce in the Winter Meadow paper pack. The Joy of Noel bundle has the letters but you could also do this with any does you have on hand suitable to fit on a card. I love this card!

As I'm writing this....the Trucking Along stamp set, punch and bundle are all available to purchase but that could change as this is one hot ticket item! I loved this card layout that I found on pinterest by Leana Girsa. So "Barbie" isn't it? This pink, black and pool party is adorable together.
For the bookworm! The little card with the bird sporting glasses is a corner that fits both on the edge of a page in your book and fits over the nexted bird on this card. A bookmark and card all in one! The card is monochromatic which simply means it uses one colour (sometimes various tones of it). Happy reading!
A simple card is the best card, right? When the patterned paper does all the work for you! Enter the Masterfully Made patterned paper. These flowers look 3D just in the way they have been painted onto the paper. Beautiful bright pinks and greens. Just the pop of colour needed to brighten someone's day.

I love going to the Farmer's Market in the fall and visiting the "apple guy". His family has been coming to the Guelph Farmer's Market for decades. The apples are the freshest and always a great value for a peck. My favourite is Jonagold and we have been enjoying Honeycrisp and Cortlands this season. Do you have a favourite variety of apple?

The daisies are quickly withering away so here's one to keep you going through the fall! Just a different slant on a front layer by cutting the cardstock a little shorter to begin with and then trimming down.
Have you heard of the fractured card layout? This is it! and it looks likes loads of measuring and trimming to make it all fit but there's a technique to all this.

Happy Thanksgiving! Our last week weather wise has been quite a mixture here in Ontario - hot "August-type" days followed by rainy cooler temps. And we've landed on Thanksgiving Monday. I love the colours, smells, textures of this time of year. Plus it's sweater weather.

For What's Up Wednesday over on Facebook, I shared this 2-4-6-8 Box that's quite easy to make from just a single sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock plus some patterned paper and ribbon to decorate.
Sweet polar bears out for a walk....well you wouldn't want to "meet" the real ones on your treks that's for sure! But they are adorable as a stamped image. Love these soft blues together. My thanks to Chris Carmichael for this design pulling in loads of product from the Beary Christmas bundle.

Cardbase 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" in Pretty Peacock Embossed Layer 4" x 5 1/2" in Balmy Blue with the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder (but leave a 1" spot at the bottom for stamping OR stamp first then emboss! Patterned Paper 3" x 3" matted with a 3 1/8 x 3 1/8" piece of Pretty Peacock Scrap Basic White for your stamping. Use the coordinating punch for one of the Polar Bears and hand cut the hat and small Polar Bear tag-a-long.

Love this: "Eat, Shriek and Be Scary". Do you send Hallowe'en cards? I have to admit I have a bunch and typically use our hallowe'en stamps for home decor projects and my Elmira Community Living class. They're great fun for stamping and making wall art decorations with. This year's paper is particularly nice and "homey"

Do you like texture? I love embossing layers on my cards and that's what Diane Hughes did on the patterned paper on this one! Ever done that? Don't be afraid and give that a whirl next time. You'll get different effects depending on the "openness" of the design on your folder(s).
