Wiper Blade Technique Card

I made this card for a very special purpose: to announce that my daughter and her husband are expecting their first child! Would you agree the Wiper Blade technique is a great way to pop up the message? This is a sneak peek of the upcoming Hello Ladybug stamp set from the January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue. So adorable!

Technique Tuesday: Stamping in the Round

Got a Stamparatus? This technique is for you! Pick a stamp set with a bunch of small stamps that can fit neatly into the corners. I used In Symmetry#155140 which is a great value for $23 with 4 greetings and 13 floral images:

Love how it turned out! Tip: use Stampin' Spots instead of Stampin' Pads. Don't have any, get the 5 pk of uninked ones and use Refills to fill them. If you have a Paper Pumpkin Subscription, you get a different colour every month!

Pool Party & Night of Navy for the Win!

Night of Navy is a colour that goes so well with many others: reds, pinks, greens, neutrals, even other blues! For today's card I've paired it up with Pool Party for a huge pop of colour!

Remember when you've got a dark card base to consider putting a piece of Basic White on the inside when you make the card, so when you're ready to send it out you're all set for writing on the inside.

The patterned paper used here is a host reward for a minimum $200 order. There are 48 sheets of 12" x 12" in that pack so be sure to stock up on a big order to get yours! I hand cut the 3 flower layers out leaving a very small border of white around that kind of blends in with the layer below. How did I get that large flower from the In Symmetry stamp? I stamped the "half flower" twice and matched them up in the middle. Sometimes we don't look beyond the stamps in a set for options like this.

Artistically Inked with Thanks

Time to switch gears...no more Christmas cards for 2021! A chance to play with stamp sets and embellishments from the Annual Catalogue and some colours besides red and green! Are you with me!?

Today's card features the Artistically Inked stamp set with bold pretty floral images and 4 - count 'em 4 - greetings! A super stamp set for the beginner stamper. For my card, I stamped and fussy cut out the leaves and flowers. While there are dies with the set, I wanted to share how easy it is to use this without the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine as you build your supplies up.

You could put a plain white layer over the Fresh Freesia, or in this case I used the Pretty Flowers embossing folder because - well - embossing is the step it up tool of choice in my craft room.

Technique Tuesday: "Puffy" technique

I was at a loss on what to call this technique...it's one that I haven't used in so long! The inspiration for this card came from the Christmas card my friend Dawn sent me. I just had to recreate it with the Arctic Bears stamp set. Leave a comment below to let me know what  you think.

Here's Dawn's card that I CASEd for this week's Technique Tuesday:

It's so easy and very impactful! First off be sure to use StaZon (Black) ink for stamping onto Vellum Cardstock. Let it dry completely (I let mine dry overnight). Flip it over and using your stylus from the Simply Scored or your Take Your Pick Tool stylus end, rub in a circular motion to create the "puffy" look. Add to your card base/layers as desired and embellish away!

Beauty of Tomorrow Collage Stamping

Many of our stamp sets come with a variety of greetings and "elements" as I call them: leaves, flowers, birds, and "splotches". What do you do with that splotch, you ask? I like to stamp it all over a layer - sometimes even behind a greeting - to add depth and dimension without bulk to a card front.

How did I get that matching Evening Evergreen twine? I used the Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blend to colour the vanilla Baker's Twine. Adds a personalized touch for this card!

In today's card, the greeting remains the focal point but without a layer. Beautiful and simple, no?

Sparkle of the Season Bundle Card

The wreaths that come with the Seasonal Swirl Dies, make a beautiful focal point on any card. I've added some lighter green (Pear Pizzazz) and Cherry Cobbler to the Mossy Meadow to make them pop! This one called for some heat embossing with White powder on the greeting which fits so perfectly across the wreath. Wondering how I did that background? It's the Bark 3D embossing folder on Basic White but then I dragged the Crumb Cake ink pad carefully across the raised part of the Bark 3D embossing. Gives it a bit of a weathered look, I think! Let me know if you agree in the comments below.

Punch Up your Cards!

How much fun is this card with punched shapes to build the background? You can easily do this with any animal punches or shapes. Play with it and see what you come up with. Glue them down to fill the entire background layer then flip the layer over and snip off the excess. Add a couple of punched shapes (with embossing, of course! for pizzazz) and the deer as the main event. A simple greeting finishes it off. To add matching rhinestones, I coloured the Basic Jewel Rhinestones with a Stampin' Blend in Cherry Cobbler.

I hope you love this card, too!

Mystery Card Monday: Dec 13, 2021

Fun, fun, fun time this week making Mystery Cards with friends. My team member Holly's November swap card was the inspiration for this one. Simple way to use up your scrap bits (either of them at 1/2" x 3 3/4") a card layer, a card base and some embellishments. Done. Let me know what you think of the cards below:

Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Reflected in Nature Card

This week's cards will be very simple focusing on stamping mostly (a little embellishments and some embossing, perhaps) but no patterned paper! Thanks for dropping by!

Love the simplicity of the Reflected in Nature stamp set. From the get-go it was one of my favourites in the July to December Mini Catalogue. Sadly it's retiring so if this inspires you to get it, don't delay! It will be gone by January 3, 2022 if not before.

No easier way to make a "reflection" card than with the image having the reflection built right in! This scene is so peaceful, don't you think?

Mystery Card Monday - November 29, 2021

Tonight's card making was loads of fun - well, as always, for me anyway! Especially so because the card I CASED was designed by my customer, Vicki. I loved it so much I just had to make my own take on it. So were are the 5 cards I made with the video and supplies following:

Which do you like best? I'm really torn because I love them all!
