Wiper Card Fun Fold

Oh wow! This is truly a fun fold card. And really quite easy...just follow the instructions in the Video Tutorial below. First made one to announce my daughter and son-in-law being pregnant and then kind of got carried away making a bunch more. You'll see a water theme going there on 3 of them. Just seemed perfect for it.

Here's a close up view of the whale that pops out of the front of the card, hence the "wiper" technique!

Blending Brush Technique: Emboss Resist

A simple and elegant card ripe for Spring! I made this in 4 different colours: Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight. Can't wait to give these to a friend as a birthday present to enjoy and then send out which brings her much joy!

It's so easy to do! Check out my VIDEO tutorial below from March 14th's Facebook Live.

Wall Art Part Two: A little the same...a little different!

As you may know, I teach a class for participants at a local Community Living Day Program. We get together monthly and they challenge me to come up with new and interesting projects that aren't always cards! We make cards probably twice a year (Christmas and Birthdays), but otherwise it's wall art, 3D, useable projects they can display with pride, give as gifts to family or use - like the book bags we made once.

Here's an adorable project we made today over Zoom. They LOVED it! Super cute and super easy with guided directions.

Everyone in the class comes at it with different abilities but everyone can work with dimensionals. So all the layers are popped up. Does it look familiar? I did a similar one last week on my Facebook Live.
Note: items used in the project above are currently on the Clearance Rack and may not all be available.

Here's the link to that post which has a Supplies List and Video Tutorial.

Floating Element using Window Sheets

Now here's a really cool idea! Use some scraps and a piece of Window Sheet to make a floating element card. What do I mean by that? The hexagon shapes are window sheets (see through) with strips of 1/2" x 2 1/2" cardstock adhered over them leaving a 1/8" space between each strip. When popped up onto the card, it looks like the strips are floating. I'm a magician!

All my thanks to Tina Rappe (U.S. Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator) for the colour inspiration and the idea. I think it's fabulous, don't you?

Want to make your own? You'll need the tutorial and supplies list found below. Enjoy!

Decorative Wall Art: Choose your favourite Suite and Get Crafting!

I love making wall art deco pieces. Sometimes I put them in frames and they range from 8" x 10" to 9"x 9" and even 12" x 12". For this project, I used some flat pressed board from Dollarama. You get six 9 7/8" x 9 7/8" pressed board pieces for $4. What a deal!

Here's the project:

I jumped right in to feature the Flowering Fields Suite (minus the Tulip Fields bundle) to show off this gorgeous patterned paper pack, dies (windmills, trees, bicycle) and the Brushed Bronze Butterflies. I have to say these butterflies are just up my jam. They go with everything!

To add some depth to the layers in the foreground, I used the Greenery Die which is kind of a die and kind not a die. It adds stitched leaves to your cardstock but does not cut right through. It's different from an embossing folder as it adds texture without adding a raised image. You'll love it! #155451 for $39. Seems pricey but so versatile you will use it as a staple in your papercrafting.

I am always in awe of those who can do origami! Such amazing talents. I seem to be all thumbs! Here's a really easy one for me and I know you can make it, too!

You will need patterned paper (8 x 2" circles plus another 2" circle to build your flowers on. Then add to a card front and embellish as you wish! Check out the full tutorial below along with a complete supplies list for the card I made pictured here:
