Art Gallery Card for a September birthday

Having done my BOGO sale last week, I'm totally inspired to check my shelves of current product and get using those stamp sets I haven't played with in a while.

Today's entry is....Art Gallery. This is one of those two step (in fact three step) stamping opportunities! You add depth of colour and image by stamping once, twice and in this case a third time.

I had this already embossed piece of Pear Pizzazz in my scrap bin but it needed some "life" so I used a sponge dauber with the same colour ink here and there to make it pop.

If it's your birthday in September, this card may be on its way to you!

Decorative Mask Fun

Playing around with the Decorative Masks for creating unique patterns on a few cards. Did you know you can use blending brushes, sponge daubers, spritzers with masks? And if you don't have any masks, just use an intricate die cut on thick Basic White cardstock to create your own mask. You can use it over and over again.

Here are the two cards I've made with these masks:

Each has its own focal point on a tag. How super cute is that? And oh so unique because you can do them in any colour your heart desires!

Check out the video for all instructions and measurements to make your own:

Let's add some life to your Vellum Cardstock!

If you've got vellum, you've used it to add a subtle layer but what about adding colour to it? For tonight's escape we had some fun colouring vellum layering designs. Check out this patterned vellum paper with Sweet Sorbet and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends adding to the magic

Oh boy! That's takes it all to a new level, right? We didn't stop there - here's a frightfully delightful hallowe'en card using a Black Stampin' Blend (alcohol based marker)

Give it a try and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

The "Whatever you have handy" Technique

Got scraps? Got left overs? Let's make a simple card with them. For this card, I grabbed a piece of cardstock from my stash (8 1/2" x 5") which isn't a standard card at all! I added to it some other bits and bobs from left over projects. I love how it turned out!

I'm in love with the Happier than Happy stamp set for more than just baby cards! The coordinating paper is the bomb, too. You gotta get the full suite.
Here are two other cards I made using this same "Whatever you have handy" technique:

The trick is to grab coordinating colours - and with Stampin' Up! we're all about the matching colours - so this is easy to do! Have fun with it!

Technique Tuesday: What's this Fun Fold?

I have to be brutally honest... I don't know the name of this fun fold! I received a version of tonight's Technique Tuesday card as a swap and thought...this is a wow card and I have to share it with everyone!

From the outside it looks like a "house" wouldn't you say:

A perfect backdrop for the Let's Set Sail bundle featuring water, birds, sailboat and suitable greeting! This card is going to someone special who is starting a new job next week!

But the inside is the hinge part and where all the magic happens:

How cool is that?!?! I have put the patterned paper on the inside at the top and the bottom planning to add another sailboat on the inside on a label for writing my message. If you figure out the name of this fun fold, then be sure to comment below so I'll know!

Here are the measurements and instructions for scoring/burnishing so you can make one, too:

Use Up Your Scraps to make a beautiful card layer!

I started off with this being a card layer, but really, this would work great with any paper crafting project! Got scraps? Trim them to 3/4" x 4" and gather up coordinating patterns. You can even add matching cardstock to get 7 strips.

I'm so pleased with how this turned out! A beautiful dragonfly with Wink of Stella wings as a focal point and shimmer gold ribbon. Who wouldn't want to receive this card?
