A Fun Fold card for you today! Designed by Wendy for our Shoebox Swap last month, this one uses circles - Deckled Circles - to create a flap that opens on the right. Quite easy to do by scoring abpout 1/4" and glue between the back most layer and the card back. Gorgeous colours inspired by the Perennial Lavender paper pack. Enjoy!
Great earthy combination with Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Moody Mauve for a perfect masculine card. The tree rings are an embossing folder for a great backdrop on this one. Soft Sea Foam leaves are a light touch to offset the neutrals. Thanks Holly for designing this one for our Shoebox Swap!
Beautiful card designed by Laurie Macfarlane on my stamping team for our February Shoebox Swap. We used markers or in my case, Watercolor Pencils, to add the yellow, brown and green to the focal point. Yes, this is a stamp and die that go together! So very pretty.
Stitching on your layers adds an elegant touch. With a tight pattern like on this one, you get a quilted look with minimal effort. First I stamped the leaves then flowers followed by embossing with the Softly Sophisticated folder for the Inlaid Embossing Technique. The stitched label is a nice compliment over the free ribbon from Sale-a-Bration. Did you get yours yet?
When designing this card, I was going for something that used many of the patterns in the Trusty Toolbox paper pack! Circles, hexagons, squares (any shape really) is a great way to add small patterns to create a background. Don’t have the dies with this coordinating bundle, don’t worry because the tools are very easy to fussy cut out. The Painted Texture 3D embossed background reminded me of the tool bench in my home with many years of stains, paints, nicks and cuts into it.
When
I received this card from Lisa Henderson, I was reminded of how much fun my
grandson is having everyday at daycare! We share the greeting, “Enjoy your day”
or “Have a good day” with our co-workers but the same applies to the littles
heading off to daycare and school. This image is die cut from the coordinating
patterned paper making this one easy to duplicate. Have a great one!

Fun scene card with a sloth swinging (ok it’s a sloth…more like hanging” from a branch) over the far too happy looking alligator. The card dimensions are 5 ½” x 11 ½” with scoring at: 1 ½”,3, 5 ½” and 8”. Perfect for building a scene on. “See you later, alligator”!
I received today’s card in a swap from Nadine Valle and I love the simplicity of it! Do you see that label the greeting is stamped onto? It’s the bottle punch! I think that’s a genius way to use a punch for another purpose. Like the toolbox card earlier this week, using the Perennial Postage dies in coordinating patterns is a simple and unique way to create a background.
Now it’s been a while since I featured a card with a butterfly on it! Usually my go-to. These ones come in a pack of 40 white die cuts (5 shapes). Use them as-is or customize them with your favourite colouring technique. On mine, I used our blending brushes to add Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Petal Pink. They look great on the patterned paper backdrop. Enjoy!
The
beautiful flowers on today’s card are from patterned paper and not stamped at
all. In fact, this a completely unstamped card except for the postage stamp
that’s going on it to mail it! The paper is a free choice during Sale-a-Bration
while supplies last or Feb 29 when it all ends for another year. I added a
layer of vellum over the dotted paper for texture and so the pattern still
shows through a bit. The greeting is the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid embossing
folder I’m featuring at my Avid class later this month. So much texture!

Who does this fluffy fellow make me think of? Winnie the Pooh! I remember many an evening reading these books to my kids. Pooh with his ever present honey pot. Today’s card comes from my Silver Sister Cindy Piggott. Just so sweet!
Oh gosh...this tiger is so cute! From Jungle Pals, and coloured in with Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends, he look so regal coming through the branches. I wasn't sure about embossing the Pumpkin Pie layer or collage stamping all over and went with the latter. Layered up on Granny Apple Green then onto a Basic Black card base it really pops! I think my grandson Allistair will like this card for his collection.
Today's card is a Multi-Tiered Fun Fold. Several layers to designed to show off a theme and create a "scene". I used the Cutest Cows bundle which I must say is all that - very cute! You can stamp the images or just punch out a white body and black bits to add the hooves, tail and spots. Use the same face stamp which punches out. The greeting is adorable: "what's moo with you?" Enjoy!

Last Saturday was another Shoebox Swap event with my team! Each one of us creates a card, preps the pieces and we go home with a bunch of new layouts. Mailed this card to my grandson for Valentine's Day. They keep their cards tacked on the fridge which is perfect for this card layout where the bottom and top flaps open to a single layer. In the depth of winter here and two people mentioned seeing Robins last week! What? Those birds must be confused by the warmer temperatures we've been having. I love birds so definitely use them in my crafting thus drawn to the Flight and Airy patterned paper - a free Sale-a-Bration choice this year. Lovely soft colours for any all occasion card. Beautiful swap card from Suzanne Netz of BC. So much dimension, showing off the Bee Mine Suite! Love the bee with two sets of wings on the inside of the Z-fold card base. Suzanne went all out ont his one with the many layered look.
The Patchwork Pieces dies make this come together very easily! Just run your cardstock and patterned paper through your die cutting machine and piece together. There are two great ways to do this:
Did you see the Meandering Meadows paper pack in the Online Exclusives section of my webstore? The prints make beautiful card scenes and come in 6" x 6" stacks of 48 sheets. This one's cut to a 2 3/4" wide panel to capture the scene with a simple embossed strip down the left side. All that's needed is a greeting and I snuck in one of the adhesive-backed birds in the sky. This paper makes me look so good!
What a great greeting for encouragement and sending cheer from the Hot Air Balloon bundle. The balloons here were just die cut from the coordinating paper. So fresh and cheery And I snuck some embossing in their with the white layer using Painted Texture 3D. A fun card!
I am the "tool person" in my house so no one to really share this card with...but I love this paper and the Trusty Toolbox stamp and die bundle. The peg board is a neat die to have and will work for other reasons, too. Some silver embellishments from Festive Pearls and it's on! Hope you like it!

The softness of a vellum layer on which I've placed the hummingbird and flower allows the pretty pattern to show throught and still add dimension and depth to the front of the card. One of the colours highlighted here is Wild Wheat. I know many aren't big fans of it, but it just works with Pool Party and Calypso Coral! Fall in love with it folks.
I have never seen a Toucan in person! But their colours are so amazing. I even went online to search real birds to get some colour combinations for today's card. This is one I did for my team members' monthly card tutorial. It features the Jungle Pals stamp set and dies and goes surprisingly well with the Leaf 3D embossing folder. Love those flowers, too. I can see using the tree die (it embosses AND cuts) with birds, monkeys, and all kinds of critters in my collection. Have a great day!
I feel like I've gotten great use out of the Softly Sophisticated FREE Sale-a-Bration item. On this card I did the two-step stamping with the leaves in Lost Lagoon and the flowers in Lemon Lolly. It fits beautifully on one of these Countryside Corners dies. Got rectangles? They would work well, too. You can never have too much embossing so I've used two patterns on this card. Those Brushed Brass Butterflies are a favourite of mine, for embellishing, too. Enjoy!
Challenged myself to work with a colour I don't often use...do you ever do that? For me it's Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. Not much into the purples I guess! But this stunning paper from the Perennial Lavender Suite with soft floral and butterfly images talked me into it. The focal point is die cut with Deckled Circles because why just who plain circles when you can cut with fancy-edged ones, right? Happy Friday!
