Watercoloring Hydrangeas

You know that stamp set in your stash that you haven't used in forever - or gasp - ever at all? For me it's Hydrangea Haven. Not sure why...it just IS. So tonight was the night to pull it out and do something wonderful with it. Hope you like this watercolor technique on both the Hydrangea (card #1) and Blessings of Home floral spray (card #2):

I think they turned out wonderfully! For this technique to work, I needed a couple of special supplies: Watercolor Pencils (we have two assortments), Watercolor Paper and Water Painters. If you don't already own them, you can order these from my online store from the Supplies List below.

Thanks for watching and let me know if you give this a try!

Make a Wreath with your Floral Images!

I saw this really cool technique by France Martin (Frenchie Stamps) in the US highlighting how to use a floral image to make a wreath. Stunning, right?

My favourite is the blue one which I am giving as a birthday card to a co-worker this month. This one was made with the Eden's Garden DistINKtive stamp that has so much beautiful texture built into one stamp. A clean and simply elegant card. Be sure to leave me a comment if you give it a try!

Love BOTH sides of your patterned paper? Show them on the same card!

Sometimes our Designer Series Paper has two amazing patterns on each side of the same sheet. What do you do when you want both to show? Let me show you how!

You don't have to sacrifice one pattern for another. The photo on the left is the front of the card where I have intentionally left the greeting off so I can add it in when I am ready to send the card. The photo on the right is the back side which shows through on the inside of the card! Here's another front view of the same technique.

Measurements:

Cardbase: 5 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" for inside
DSP: 4" x 5 1/2"
Ribbon: 16" White Glittered Organdy coloured using Stampin' Blends to match.

Swing Card

Tonight's card is another unique fun fold, the Swing card! No unique set of dies or tools needed - any rectangular shaped die will do.

Is it darling? Pull on the left side opening and the centre section swings open on both sides! Use any focal point but for me the ladybug on a leaf was the perfect addition.

Check out this video on how to make a fun Swing Card featuring the Ladybug stamp set and punch bundle. So cute!

Measurements:
Cardbase: 4 1/4" x 11"
Inside: 4" x 5 1/4"
Cut two: 4 1/4" x 2 3/4" for die cutting the rectangles

Flip Flop Fun Fold Card

I love a fun fold card! For any occasion this just WOW's 'em. Check out the video for all the instruction. This is a super-easy-but-looks-difficult one that you've just gotta try! I made the name up: Flip Flop Fun Fold. The card base is a single panel with two flaps to hide the message inside.

The "flaps" can be made in any size to suit your taste of scraps if you're wanting to use them up. The key is having a 1/4" (or 1/2") tab on each flap that hides behind the layer. Super simple!

Measurements:

Card base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" (not a full card that stands up)
White layer for inside: 4" x 5 1/4"
Two strips of patterned paper: 3 3/4" x 1 1/4"
Flap #1: 4" x 3 3/4" with a patterned paper layer of 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Flap #2: 3" x 2 3/4" with a patterned paper layer of 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
White stamping layer for flap #2: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
