Feeling so blessed by the kindness of friends and family as I turned 61. Oh my! This card features the Potted Geraniums stamp set and die bundle. With all the excitement over Sale-A-Bration and the new Mini Catalogue I often go back to those stamp sets in our Annual Catalogue like Graceful Tiles. Stacey made this card as our Creative Ambassador showing clear embossing on squares for a pretty pattern that coordinates so well with this patterned paper called Lovely LInen. Super pretty and a good way to use up scraps. Enjoy!

I've met so many amazing people through this Stampin' Up! journey and from all across the country. Working on the Team Canada newsletter I crossed paths with Andrea Estensen and we became fast friends. This is one of Andrea's creations showing off the ovals in the Framed Florets bundle. Pairing it up with the Double Oval punch for the greeting, I think this card is a great one for birthdays. The leaves were stamped around in a collage technique fashion. A quick and easy card I'd like to do in several colour schemes!
Today's card features that adorable owl - aren't his eyes so cute? Designed by Lee on my team for our December swap. This is a fun fold card where the owl layer pops up to reveal the left flap then mini card for writing on the inside. Such a sweet card. Thanks, Lee!

I really can't seem to get enough of the In the Country sale-a-bration Stamp Set. This time in Soft Sea Foam and Night of Navy. To add a little extra texture and definition, I scored the 4" x 5 1/4" Soft Sea Foam layer at 1/4" and 1/2" on all 4 sides. The image was stamped in Smoky Slate and colour added with a blending brush and coordinating Soft Sea Foam ink. Love how it turned out!
Yes it's true...I have something to celebrate today, January 26: It's my 61st birthday!
I made this fun project with a group of 10 clients at the Elmira District Community Living Avenues Program this week. How fun! Using the Stamparatus, I die cut blanks of the images so they could easily add the ink and stamp themselves. Perfect for our class of persons with varying abilities.
The base is wood and measures 5.5 inches square purchased at a local dollar store for $1.50. The mini calendars are purchased from Taylored Expressions in the USA.

Today my grandson Allistair is 7 months old! He just melts my heart everytime I see his infectious smile. They do that, don't they?
Today's card is one I did with my team this month featuring the In the Country stamp set. This was yet another way to use this stamp set without fussy colouring in. I promise we'll do colouring, really! A layer of vellum cardstock over the stamped image softens the stamping a little and add depth of texture to the card. This one flips up in the middle to open. Enjoy!
Looking for a way to take your card making to the next level? Enter Fun Folds! I have just learned the Tunnel Fun Fold and feel this one will be a regular feature in my crafting because a) it's super easy but looks hard and b) it uses minimal supplies for such a WOW!
A cute way to show off critters like the Adorable Owl shown here. To give you an idea of size, the card measures 4" square and when folded flat, it fits into a standard Medium sized Stampin' Up! envelope. Perfect!

I'm featuring the Love For You Bundle for my Avid Stampers Class this month and showing how versatile it is with all your favourite crafting supplies. This bundle has large words with mattes so you can really have them stand out on your layers.
Stamp and punch bundles are a great way to get coordinating products at a 10% discount when purchased together. So it was with the Country Bouquet bundle. There's a stamp for the heart and leaves and many greetings. This one is of course a Valentine's Day card and rather than a long strip for the greeting, I stamped then cut it up to spread the words around and add dimension to the card. Stamping right onto the patterned paper is another way to step up your card! If you bought my paper share, take a look at this pattern - Country Floral Lane - for ways to do so!
I was intrigued when my In The Country stamp set arrived with my preorder. There are two fairly large scenic stamps. I wanted to show them off in different ways than colouring them in. For today's card, I heat set with white embossing powder on vellum cardstock. It picks up the outline of the image nicely thanks to Versamark Ink once the vellum is laid down onto Calypso Coral cardstock. I adhered the vellum to the cardstock using adhesive sheets for a more even finish. I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out! Let me know what you think.

Here's my swap card for my Silver Sisters preorder swap featuring the Framed Florets bundle with Blushing Bride and Evening Evergreen. Lots of layers here and the way the easel section stands up is by a fold in the card front which slips under the ovals from this bundle. And it still mails flat in a standard envelope. Love a fun fold card!
We usually think of embossing powder for greetings or large images and outlines. What about just for adding a delicate touch? The Copper or Gold embossing powders from the metallics collection are perfect for this and paired with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder you have a winner with a scene image like In the Country.

First up, creating a scene with no colouring in required. One ink pad and basic supplies:
I don't live anywhere near the oceans (or the great lakes for that matter!) but I am drawn to creating with seashells and sand. Thank goodness we've got this beautiful Seaside Bay Suite of products in the new Jan-April Mini catalogue and this gorgeous card from my Silver Sister Glenda Mollet. Soft pretty colours of Petal Pink and Mint Macaron for a peaceful design. Who wouldn't want this birthday card!?
The new Dry Brushed Metallic Paper is the star of the show on today's card from Celia McDiarmid. When you pair it up with different cardstock, it takes on a different look. Pretty cool, huh? The flower and stamp are from the new Two Tone Flora Bundle and Something Fancy Bundle. Just a beautiful card for one of those difficult seasons of life.
For your back pocket, here's a simple card layout that works with any patterned papers! In fact you could add embossed or plain card stock in lieu of the papers. Grab a die or punch (Beautiful Shapes Dies used here) for a suitable sized greeting, matching ink and embellishments and you're all set.

Valentine's Day is coming soon so as crafters you know we've been making cards for this occasion for months now! This time I took a new take on it by using non-traditional colours. I'm honestly thinking this will be a great "Galantine's Day" card for my besties. Super easy. I used the Picture This Dies but if you have stitched shapes of any kind, just assemble on a piece of cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and die cut through! Then place a piece of patterned paper behind. I used the Country Floral Lane. Add a greeting and a heart - because it is Valentine's Day afterall!
Oh such pretty dainty flowers! Just breathes spring doesn't it?
This layout is one I do often when a large image patterned paper. By cutting the 3" paper into 1" strips, and gluing back together in the same order on a piece of coordinating cardstock, you get a really neat effect. The pattern at the bottom below the ribbon is the back of the floral so you get to see both sides of the same paper on one card. Another Adorable Owl card...just can't seem to get enough of them! This one enjoying a swing. The seat is made with a label from Fabulous Frames and the hearts are from the new Country Bouquet punch. Such pretty colours to brighten up our wintery days!

It's super rewarding when I see how my team members and customers have developed new skills with their card making. I learn so much from them! Today's card is from Jane who used first stamped the images onto Basic White then embossed that layer for texture. These colours are so amazing together as well: Mossy Meadow, Pale Papaya and Basic White with linen thread. This is the Wildflower Path stamp set from the Annual Catalogue - one that might get overlooked. Check it out on pg 106 of the current Annual Catalogue.

Today's card was designed and shared with me by Chris Carmichael in a recent demonstrator swap. The patterned paper is called Delicate Dessert and you'll find the entire Suite Collection on pages 42-43 of the January to April mini catalogue. You'll love creating with this designer series paper as you can stamp all over the patterns to add depth or leave as-is for an understated look. Chris stamped the images from the matching stamp set in the same colour, Cajun Craze, to demonstrate this neat idea.
There's some pretty Dry Brushed Metallic papers in this catalogue (2 sheets in 2 different designs) for that pop of gold. Love this!
Ooh la la! Tonight's What's Up Wednesday tutorial class was all about using your embossing folders to take foil paper to the next level. We're talking Mach 10 here folks! Hold onto your hats because this is simple gorgeous!
Here's the card I made ahead of time to try out this idea and I loved it so much I know I had to share with everyone. I've had this Silver Foil Paper from last Sale-A-Bration and wasn't quite sure what to do with the darker shaded sheets that held more of a plum or purple tone. What do you think of Polished Pink and Black?
