Sending a Warm Hello as we usher in a new year at midnight tonight!

Such a lovely, warm card wishing a special family member or friend all the best today! The Circle Sayings bundle has been sitting on my shelf a while and so I was glad to bring it out to make this card from World Card Making day! Any circle punch or die is going to do it for you - in this case I used the 2 3/8". The greeting is from Circle Sayings. Using "half" of the punched shape gives you more to spread around on the card!

I don't usually go out for New Years'. In fact, this is the day/night I warm up some cocoa or tea, put a log on the fire and spend hours crafting the year "out". All the best to you my friends as we ring in 2024! xo

Bee Mine: You make my heart buzz

More of this adorable Bee Mine bee punch. To get the two-tone colour on the bee, there are two stamps: one a body that I stamped in Daffodil Delight and one of black stripes that I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I coloured in the wings to coordinate with the Pool Party layer but in hindsight would do in black as well. The paper in this pack is very multipurpose suitable for whatever you're creating today.

Winter Owls bringing a Special Delivery

I feel this tag by itself or as a focal point on the card is perfect for any occasion. The paper is long sold out but the gold/navy ribbon and stunning Winter Owl stamp set and die bundle is still available til January 4. All this is on Very Vanilla for a soft subtle look.

Bee Mine Suite

The Christmas tree is still twinkling in the living room but for a card maker with new supplies it's time to move on to spring colours and images! This is a new bundle coming available to customers starting January 5 in the Jan-April Mini Catalogue. Got my hands on it in October and well let's just say there's not a lot of the patterned paper left. That bee...it's a punch! The anntennae and wings punch out heart shapes so this is going to be my go-to for Valentine creations. So darn cute. Bee Mine is the suite.

Heartfelt Hexagon for the Win!

Every just punch a bunch then toss them on the table to see what comes to mind? I'm sure this is what the designer had in mind when preparing this card for World Card Making Day 2023. The coordinating stamp set has the dotted pattern around the edges. A simple but really neat layout for a birthday card. Enjoy!

Earthen Textures with water-colouring

Now for a little non-holiday cards...If you attended World Card making day in October, Stampin' Up! did a video on how to make this card using this stamp set (Earthen Textures) or using other similar leaf type die cuts. The star of the show was adding ink with a water colour painter (or paint brush) onto water colour paper after die cutting. The 3 rectangular die cuts are actually the tall urn from the set! Beautiful bold bright colours to brighten up what's a rather dreary day here. Happy Boxing Day!

Christmas Eve 2023

"And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care..." Getting set for Santa and the reindeer to arrive tonight? The story is such a familiar one in our family. I still have the pop up book and look forward to reading it to my grandson. Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

Winter Owls with snow on the boughs

More from Winter Owls....the snow was made using some watered down acrylic paint (from the dollar store!) and the flicking of a paintbrush. Super simple.

To create the snow on the branches, I die cut the branches in both Basic Gray and Basic White and lay the gray on top of the white so the snow appears to be piling up on the branch. And the beautiful owl! Enjoy your day!

Jolly St. Nick with Sending Cheer

Jolly St. Nick will be coming down the chimeny in a few short days! Are the kids at your house getting excited? It doesn't matter how old...we're all kids at heart. And when you see this red cap you always think of Santa. Enjoy the rest of the week!

Happy 1st Day of Winter with Winter Owls!

The snowy owl...a beautiful centrepiece on today's winter card. Just simple stamping with a bunch of layers - some embossed and some not - behind it. That wreath is from Cottage Wreaths and is a favourite for framing your focal point. Happy 1st Day of Winter 2023!

Sending Cheer with Presents wrapped up so dear

It's almost time for me to start wrapping the gifts...are yours all under the tree already? I like to leave this one task to the end. I put on some Christmas music, sit by my finally decorated tree and wrap, wrap, wrap. While I like the idea of reusable bags there's nothing like tearing open pretty patterned paper to reveal what's inside. Sending Cheer to you as you package up your presents this holiday season!

Christmas Classics - Peace on Earth

Wishing you all some peace and tranquility in these days leading up to the holidays. There's still a lot of preparations happening, parties, baking and wrapping. Take time to be quiet and sit by your tree and soak it up. We're almost there...

Translucent Florals in many layers

Hands down my favourite card from the Translucent Florals class I did last week. So many layers - oh my! All arranged on a white exposed brick embossed matte. The colours I used were Old Olive, Night of Navy, Lemon Lolly and a little black cardstock. I really like how this one turned out.

Homemade gingerbread cookie....card!

Do you bake for the holidays? What's your favourite recipe? I have never made gingerbread but I sure have decorated them. Always a fun activity with the family. These are much smaller and not quite so tasty but beautiful in a card. Enjoy!

Radiating Stitches Dies really frame this pretty paper!

A commercial break from holiday cards with this one. Designed by my friend and team member, Wendy for our shoebox swap. If you're wondering, these dies are on the "online exclusives" list in my webstore. They won't appear in any publication and are available while supplies last. I like the radiating design look on this card.

Translucent Floral card in Orchid Oasis and Old Olive

These flowers from Translucent Florals are so pretty. All that shading happens with the photopolymer stamp so it's "Diane-proof". Turns out every time.

Thanks to Wendy for this gorgeous card from our Shoebox Swap last month. I really like the coordination of Orchid Oasis and Old Olive together.

This was my card from the November Team Shoebox Swap. What fun we had making each others' creations, catching up and enjoying some holiday cheer early. The Sending Cheer Bundle is almost gone so if you like these images, be sure to order soon. Bonus: the dies all work with the standard and mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine (and other die cutting machines on the market)!

Tree Decorating with Beary Christmas Suite

Lovely gatefold card with a "belly band" wrap around on which the bear and tree sit. So cheery and festive! Thanks, Stacey (and happy birthday today!) for sharing this card with us at our team Shoebox Swap.

This will be me later today as I pick up my NEW pre-lit Christmas Tree and do some decorating. I hope I look as festive (but skinnier) than the polar bear LOL

Gorgeous Garden Die makes one gorgeous card

Met with my team in November for a Shoebox swap. Here's one of the two cards I designed. The die makes this a snap to put togther! I highly recommend using Adhesive Sheets on the back of the patterned paper (or cardstock) you use to die cut out the Gorgeous Garden dies (2 die set each of which covers a full 4" x 5 1/4" panel). The little left over pieces will stick to the sheet and the die cut comes out clean. Just added a tag with a heat embossed greeting and a little twine/gems.

Tidings of Comfort & Joy

Eh voila: The fractured card layout for Christmas! Really shows off the greeting and the patterned paper with the 3/8" strips of Cherry Cobbler framing the centre. Added a little bow and some bling to jazz it up a bit.

Simple said Sympathy Card

Pulled out the Hello Irresistibles paper pack for a subtle palette of colour as the base for my sympathy card. A more subdued background is best when making these. And just a simple heartfelt greeting to top it off. These colours are Soft Sea Foam for the cardbase and Pebbled Path.

Heartfelt Hexagon Punch does it all!

Love my punches for more than just labels. Especially with busy patterns. They all go togethers beautifully arranged with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch. Lay them out on your card front or layer and trim the edges off flush to the edge. A handy way to use them.

Layer Up Your Cards for loads of dimension!

I'm often asked about layers on cards...here's my go to list starting from a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card front and going smaller:

4" x 5 1/4"
3 3/4" x 5"
3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
3" x 4 1/4"
2 3/4" x 4"

Skip a layer or two to show off more of one layer as I've done with the embosed white piece (3 3/4" x 5"). Adding lots of cardstock layers is a great way to add dimension to your project as you're building your collection of embossing tools and embellishments.

Heartfelt Hexagon All Occasion Card

A simple birthday or all occasion card to wish someone a joyful day! This time, I've paired Night of Navy up with Lemon Lolly - one of our newer subtle colours. The navy really pops! This is the Heartfelt Hexagon punch in action together with its coordinating stamp that does the stamped stitching around it.

Christmas Classics with Coloured Ribbon

Here's more of the Christmas Classics dies - thi time with the Old Olive leaf pattern. And that pretty Vanilla and Black check ribbon has been coloured (YES, you can do this!) with the Old Olive Stampin' Blend. It works best with an alcohol marker or sharpie and not a water based one which would run. Give that a try on your next card!
