Here's a layout I haven't used in a while...called "Triplets". It works well for small images by putting them on shapes that will fit on a card - like a square or circle. For these, I coloured them in with Berry Burst and Peaceful Pine Stampin' Blends to coordinate with the Moonlit Flora patterned paper. Love how this colours combination works together.

The Faux Stair Step card layout is awesome for showing off the wonderful Waterside Retreat patterned paper. I've added the Adirondack Chair to it as well for some great layering up of textures and colours. Where will the message go on this type of card? Cut a piece of white or vanilla and place it on the back panel. Too cute!

With patterned paper like Moonlit Flora simple shapes really make a statement on your project. I layered 3 from different stitched ones in the Stylish Shapes dies set over an embossed layer with the coordinating Fern & Flora folder. I added a little colour to the stark white layer to soften it using Berry Burst ink and a blending brush. Duplicate this layout on your next card.

Really like making little treat holders like this one especially with this adorable paper and the cute Splash and Relax bundle! This one measures 3.5 inches wide by 2.75 inches tall by a one inch deep - a lovely size for tucking in a gift card, candy, a small gift, two little hand sanitizers. Lots of choices! These would be perfect for a party, loot bags or little gifties for your next BBQ.

Ever made a Pinwheel card? It's a very cool layout that still folds flat and fits in a standard envelope. What a masterpiece for putting on display. Works well for patterned paper, images or even photos. Tip: Colour the ends of the bullrushes with a Pecan Pie stampin' blend once cut out of Gray Granite. Works great! Best to avoid popping layers up on dimensionals to enable folding for mailing. This was a hit at the June Avid Stampers Class where everyone took home the Relaxing Waterside bundle. Love it!
Made this beautiful card for my July Team Tutorial. The moth is stunning in Soft Sea Foam against the other greens in the Moonlit Flora paper. Reminds me of visits to the Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge, ON where – on a cold blustery day – you can enjoy the warmth of a tropical paradise surrounded by butterflies and moths and a few other creatures. Not for those who don’t love these creatures landing on them but if you do, it’s a must-do!
Had my team Stampin’ Social last week and most everyone who attends will swap cards with each other. This is mine featuring the Capturing Smiles bundle. Unless you’re a photography buff, I imagine you take most of your photos with your phone or possibly your tablet (if you’re a boomer, that is!). With vacation season upon us, this bundle will be a hit for scrapbook pages as well as cute cards. I love the look of Coastal Cabana with a pop of pink and black. It really gives a pop.

Are you taking some time to relax into summer? That’s all I think about when I see an Adirondack chair. Did you know it was invented in the very early 1900s by Thomas Lee in Westport, New York which is located in Adirondack Park? They and were popularized in tuberculosis sanatoriums because the armrests helped open up the sitters’ chests. Since the 1980s it’s been marketed in Canada as a “Muskoka chair” but they did not originate in the Muskokas! (source: Wikipedia)

This card is called the impossible card for a reason: The base is made by cutting and twisting the white layer to create the pop up front. Who’s ready to hit the beach? Time for some sand, sun, waves and flip flops. This month I’m the Creative Ambassador on my team’s page and this is one of the 5 projects. My colour palette is: Lemon Lolly, Summer Splash and Coastal Cabana with Basic Black as the neutral. The lid for the cup is Pool Party just slightly lighter in tone than it’s cousin Coastal Cabana. A tip for using the small dies is to put Adhesive sheets on the paper before die cutting – makes adhere small pieces together without tearing or squishing liquid glue. Enjoy!
I’ve often used leaves and even small flowers to create a circular wreath on a card but this time I went with a semi-circle. Tip: start by placing a pencil mark in the semi-circle shape and build on top first with some leaves, then the flowers (odd numbers are best) then tuck in some additional floral images or small butterflies/leaves. Once I “auditioned” the card (by laying the die cuts down), I took a picture with my phone then removed them to do the stamping. I’m so please with how it turned out.

Using tone-on-tone stamping with the collage technique, I’ve created my own patterned paper using just one stamp from the Boutique Blossoms stamp set and Fresh Freesia ink. Must confess that I’m finally using the May Product of the Month Berry Botanical Vellum paper. It’s so beautiful that I was holding back cutting into it. Don’t do that! Be brave and enjoy the moment. Bringing you a fun pop out card with the Everyday Arches as the focal point. Today’s card has loads or room for writing a large message for the recipient. To balance the layers on the front, I layered the inside with Basic White matted onto Hydrangea Hue. With this layout, you can use the thinner Basic White for your card base and be confident that it will keep it’s shape even in our humid summer climate. Gotta love those little butterflies in Hydrangea Hue to finish it off. Enjoy!
Need a baby card? The Safari Smiles stamp set and die bundle has cute images and greetings for the littles in your life. Searching for a layout, I happened upon the Marvelous Fun Fold by Susan Campfield and knew it was just perfect for this congratulations card. Nothing over the top yet several layered folds with a centre pop out for displaying on a shelf or mantle. Enjoy!

We made this card at the June Avid Stampers class using our amazing Relaxing Waterside Bundle and coordinating Waterside Retreat patterned paper. Sneak peek of one of the cards we’re making at my Team Stampin’ Social next week! In prepping the card, I pulled out Flirty Flamingo cardstock and my stampin’ blends to colour in the vase and flowers from the Artisan Sketched Garden patterned paper. It’s got great black and white images just perfect for adding colour to using your favourite medium: markers, pencil crayons or a ink and a blender pen. Layered up and oh so pretty for an any occasion card.
Ooh la la! Love the bold shades of Golden Glow and Berry Burst offset by a variety of greens on this one! Use those die cuts in your collection to layer up some goodness. The two squares are 2.5 inches and slightly offset to add depth and perspective. Can never have enough embossed bits. Seriously – this is a 6+ layer card from base to the linen thread. Really makes a statement and ready to brighten up someone’s day.
I was inspired by my Silver Sister, Tamara Bertram’s card for this layout. Over the embossed layer, are 1 inch squares from the sensational Boutique Bloom specialty designer series paper. Finished it off with a die cut, greeting and ribbon for a quick and elegant card. Use any patterned paper and embossing folder to duplicate. Do you like it? Let me know!

Either way, Wendy’s Team Shoebox Swap card from June 6, is a stunner featuring this gorgeous background stamp called Flowers Fair. We stamped the image in Granny Apple Green ink then coloured in with 4 shades of Stampin’ Blends: Lemon Lolly, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green and Timid Tiger. Turned out great and really screams, “Bring on Summer!”
Have you played with this patterned paper yet? The Moonlit Flora designer series paper is so luxurious with the new Golden Glow flowers popping right off the page against the various greens. Thanks to Stacey for designing this card for our June shoebox swap. The patterned paper layer is 3” tall by 3 ¾” wide giving you 12 cards from one sheet of 12 x 12 - now that’s a value! With some matching ribbon and a greeting, the card comes together quickly.
Doesn't this look just like patterned paper? Oh friends, it is not! It's not even multiple single stamps because I cannot see me being able to get this great pattern done that way. I cut - yes I said cut - my Floral Vignette stamp out of its frame piece to make the background stamp two stamps. It goes back together easily for those times when I'll want the full image. This gives so many creative choices with the one stamp. Give that a try with your stamps.
Here’s a bundle that escaped my keen eyes in our Online Exclusives section: Filled with Sweetness. The dies make the car in the shape of a jam jar and it’s a great size at 3 ⅝” x 4 ⅛”. Comes with all the adorable bits for dressing up the jar: top edge mimicking fabric, strawberries and blueberries, a bow, tiny flowers and several labels. Holly’s June Shoebox creation highlights the Eyelet Blooms die. This was definitely worth the $7 add on. Here’s a tip: using an adhesive sheet on the back to help remove the tiny holes in this delicate eyelet pattern. Pairing with Petal Pink, Peaceful Pine and Strawberry Slush for the accents, it turned out beautifully. Thanks, Holly, for sharing this card design with us!
Thrilled to share today’s card designed by Dawn for our June Shoebox Swap. It’s been ages since I’ve flipped open the White Craft ink to stamp with and I’m glad we got to do just that. The Cloud Cover layer has the subtle white craft ink stamping on it with a hint of Old Olive for the leaves. What an amazing colour combo! I can see using this for a sympathy or thinking of you card. So pretty and delicate.
Stunning black and white card with some old and new products: the Nested Essentials dies and Artisan Sketched Garden DSP bursting with images to cut out such as flowers in vases. Sharing a lovely card from my Silver Sister Sue Philip that shows our Two-Tone paper that's been embossed and distressed in Secret Sea to reveal the inside white core. A background stamp is a great one to have in your stash! They cover up a whole layer on the card for quick designing and creating multiples. I stamped the Floral Vignette in Secret Sea then coloured within the flowers using my Crisp Cataloupe Stampin' Blends. A greeting in a cursive font rounds out the front beautifully. Enjoy!
Have you made your first Double Vision card? It looks very much like an Eclipse card layout but even easier! You start with two layers that are exactly the same. Cut half inch strips vertically and add over its matching layer with stampin' dimensionals to add that double vision look. This Moonlit Flora paper is so perfect for it. Make one and share it with me!
This side flap fold is a a nice "step it up" type of card. Adding an insert sliding out really makes a statement. This card layout works both vertically and horizontally. For my card today it was all about the vertical layout. The inside also has space for a gift card. You know I love butterflies so no surprise I'm featuring loads of them through this spring. Enjoy this lovely pop of colour on a bleak day!
My class attendees take home a treat holder with something sweet or adorable inside from each class. I love researching and designing these for them especially finding ways to upsize and change them for new treats inside. This was from my May Avid class where everyone took home the All Aflutter stamp set and punch bundle. These are 3" x 3" x 1" boxes. Aren't they darling? They hold a cookie or some chocolate. I found the "Made Good" mini granola bites which come with several in a tiny pouch fit nicely inside.
Here's a fun fold I haven't done in ages: The Drapery Fold. Helps use up a third of a sheet of patterned paper as you start with 4 inches by 12 inches. You'll want to pick a sheet where the pattern on both sides compliment one another as this fold shows off both sides.
More with Circles! Use your punches or dies to create a fun background to show off coordinating patterned paper like the Moonlit Flora. My focal point on the white stitched circle is my favourite image from the Cutest Crew Stamp Set. Three quirky birds on the grass. Reminds me of the many birds swarming the bird feeder lately just trying to get some seed for themselves. The greeting is perfect for sending off to friends and family that are friends!
