3 x 3 Treat Holders featuring All Aflutter

My class attendees take home a treat holder with something sweet or adorable inside from each class. I love researching and designing these for them especially finding ways to upsize and change them for new treats inside. This was from my May Avid class where everyone took home the All Aflutter stamp set and punch bundle. These are 3" x 3" x 1" boxes. Aren't they darling? They hold a cookie or some chocolate. I found the "Made Good" mini granola bites which come with several in a tiny pouch fit nicely inside.

Draper Fun Fold with Bloom Boutique

Here's a fun fold I haven't done in ages: The Drapery Fold. Helps use up a third of a sheet of patterned paper as you start with 4 inches by 12 inches. You'll want to pick a sheet where the pattern on both sides compliment one another as this fold shows off both sides.

Measurements:
  1. Cardbase: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; score in the middle and burnish
  2. Hydrangea Hue layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  3. Patterned Paper for the drapery fold: 4" x 11 1/2"
    • Score along the 11 1/2" side at: 3", 4", 6", 7", 9" and 10"
    • On the right side (where the 10" score line is), mark down at 1" from the top with a pencil.
    • Cut from the pencil mark to the left 3" score line
    • Fold accordion style (back and forth).
    • From the short end (the end where your pencil mark is, cut off 1/4"

Designing with Circles

More with Circles! Use your punches or dies to create a fun background to show off coordinating patterned paper like the Moonlit Flora. My focal point on the white stitched circle is my favourite image from the Cutest Crew Stamp Set. Three quirky birds on the grass. Reminds me of the many birds swarming the bird feeder lately just trying to get some seed for themselves. The greeting is perfect for sending off to friends and family that are friends!

Frameworthy Floral Vignette

The Floral Vignette Stamp Set makes every project a work of art. An oval greenery border creates the perfect spot for various sentiments, while the floral vignette forms a soft focal point. Use them together, separately, or as repeating motifs to design cards and crafts that feel polished, personal, and frameworthy.

Today's card is worthy of two photos to show the fun fold to its fullest! Received this beautiful card from Carolyn Dieleman in our recent new catalogue swap featuring this special card fold. All Aflutter with gold foil accents

When designing this swap card, I was looking to build using mutiple layers with gold accents, and the new All Aflutter butterflies. A whisper of Barely Blush paired with Basic Black really gets that gold to pop. StaZon ink is the go-to ink for working with slippery surfaces like foil papers and window sheets. A fresh, delicate card. Enjoy!

Artisan Sketched Garden for Oodles of Pretty Cards

Happy to share this lovely card from Melva Peters in our new catalogue swap. The vase of flowers is not a stamp at all but from the Artisan Sketched Garden patterned paper. There are oodles on two sheets to make loads of easy cards by using your favourite colouring medium: pencil crayons, Stampin' Blends, ink pads using eith er a Blender Pen or Water Painter. Super easy and very effective as it is framed by the Phrases and Frames dies. Love it!

Inlaid Embossing Technique with Paradise Garden Folder

Looking for an easy Technique to boost your card making up a notch? Try the Inlaid Embossing Technique. Cut multiple shapes of patterned paper or intermingle with cardstock as I've done on this card. Adhere onto a piece of cardstock (I used Basic White) and then run through your embossing machine using any folder. The Paradise Garden 3D Hybrid was used on today's sample. The patterned paper gets a boost of texture that you're going to love. Enjoy!

Bloom Boutique paper bursting with new In Colors

Loving playing with our 2026-2028 In Colors, in particular the return of Crisp Cantaloupe and the new Peaceful Pine on today's card. The delicate flowers on this patterned paper called Bloom Boutique with gold accents is a real stunner. To get these nicely matted, cut your patterned paper to 3 inches by 4 inches and the matte to 3.25 inches by 4.25 inches. Cut them both in half on the diagonal and they will match up beautifully. Give it a try!

Stunning Sunflower Birthday Card

We had a great time at my team member, Jane's home for our Shoebox Swap yesterday! I'll be showcasing everyone's cards. Such varying styles and great designs. This was my card using the de-bossed side of the Sunflower Embossing Folder with three inks: Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso. What a stunning backdrop it makes for this birthday greeting. I snuck a butterfly on there for good measure, too!

Cut up your Stamps - did she really say that?

Gonna let you in on a secret with today's stamp....it's a Background stamp called Floral Vignette with a lovely dotted oval pattern all around but I wanted more versatility so I cut the floral image out of the frame. What?
Yes, I cut it out. Photopolymer works great for that so now I have the oval frame separate from the floral stamp and I can easily put them together on block to use as it was intended. So very happy with this thank you card.

Moonlit Flora Divine Circles Card

I've definitely been on a "circle" kick with my card designs! It's just a great way to a) use up some scraps of pretty papers and b) show off several patterns on one card. Today's features the Moonlit Flora which is my current go-to pattern. I've die cut the circles with the you-gotta-have-them Stylish Shapes dies layered over the Paradise Garden hybrid folder. Love how all the layers add texture and depth to this card. Enjoy!

Sweet Birthday Card featuring the Nests of Winter Paper

Along with butterflies, one of my other favourite focal points on a card is birds. All kinds - all species - all colours. At my bird feeders in the backyard oasis, I am frequently visited by the Grackles so I've switched to Songbird seed to attract more colourful and less "pushy" types. This card was born out of seeing some cardinals, finches and sparrows visiting the perch. This paper is retired but I still have loads of the birds to continue making more cards like this.

Fluttering By with a simple layout

Sharing a sweet card combining some of our retired and last chance products with the All Aflutter stamp set and punch bundle. It's a butterfly punch and that makes my heart sing! What I love about this card layout is how versatile it is - just change up the patterned paper and embossing folder then swap out your butterflies and you've got a design for any occasion or holiday!

A Cutest Crew for some Cute New Friends

I recently attended a De-Stash Garage sale in my community which was a smash hit, I must say! Lots of vendors and amazing finds. Watch for it at the Salvation Army Church May 2027....anyhow, at the event I did a few draws from among those who signed up for my newsletter with the prize being a card class with 3 of their friends. This is one of the 3 cards we're doing at these classes. Easy to duplicate with any shapes besides circles and your fave critter. For me, that's the feathered kind. Enjoy!

Scenic Coast Eclipse Card

The Eclipse card is taking the cardmaking world by storm - you see them everywhere you look for inspiration. The trick is using two of the exact same pieces of patterned paper, trimming one into half inch strips and adhering every other one using adhesive strips over the original pattern. Then add your embellishments, a focal point and greeting. On this one in particular, it's a gorgeous sunset scene using the Scenic Coast paper. How gorgeous! Give it a try.

Velvet Meadow Patterned Paper Says it All

Wow! Have you SEEN our new patterned paper collection? So many gorgeous patterns topping it off with Velvet Meadow: a mixture of bright/bold colours with sof/subtle accents. Here's a great way to use 1.25 inch scraps of various patterns in the pack. Since they all colour match so beautifully, pick 3 to matte and add your greeting and a focal point. What makes this one so striking is the white heat embossed butterflies on Berry Burst. Love it!

Double Collar Fun Fold showing off the Bloom Boutique patterned paper

I came across the Double Collar Card fold a few months ago and really love who this shows off both sides of coordinating patterned paper. Use it with any in your stash. I use a 2.5 inch wide strip down the middle (the centre floral pattern) then on either side, the reverse pattern measuring 1.75 inches wide each. They overlap a wee bit then fold back the top and bottom inside edges to make the collar look. Anything that doesn't line up perfectly will be hidden by the focal point in the centre. This was my team swap card for May as I really wanted to incorporate the new All Aflutter Bundle and Bloom Boutique patterned paper. Enjoy!

Let's Celebrate with Balloon Festoon

Balloon Festoon - what a fun name for this stamp set and die bundle! Love how Desiree Simpson - one of my Silver Sisters - embossed the balloon die cut with a coordinating daisy print. This is a totally duplicatable layout with your favourite products. For reference cut your strips between a half inch and three-quarters of an inch for great coverage on the front layer. I think I'll be CASE-ing this one! Thanks, Des.

Adding layers really steps up your card

Way to add layers to a card with a clean colour palate of the new Hydrangea Hue and white with a little hint of Peaceful Pine in the patterned paper. I count 6 layers including the cardbase which was over the top for our recent swap criteria! This really demonstrates how just two colours - Basic White and Hydrangea Hue - adding varied textures and layers packs a lot into one project. Enjoy!

Using Everyday Arches for layering on a card

Sometimes it's the patterned paper that makes the card! So it is with this delicate colour combination from the Velvet Meadow 12 inch x 12 inch pack. Sunset Coast card resplendent of Lake Huron sunsets

I live a mere 2 hour drive from some of the very best sunsets on Lake Huron in Ontario. It's always a wonderful sight to see - when you're visiting the area, you just have to go down to the beach every night to see their magnificance.

Today's card received in a swap reminds me that susnet watching days are coming soon! This paper is aptly names Scenic Coast and a must have with Golden Clow cardstock. Enjoy!

Fluttering By to Say Hi with All Aflutter Bundle

At the Scrapford Crop I attended end April, I was busy with my head down making the cards for upcoming classes. Surprised at how well the copper went with Secret Sea and Gray Granite tones. Kintsugi Fractured Card

There's something about pairing a soft yellow with blues. This is Lovely Lemon and Misty Moonlight with Basic White and gold accents found in the Kintsugi Inspirations paper. This layout is called a Fractured Card and goes together quite simply: place your diamond in the centre of the card and add .25 inch strips on all four sides leading off the layer. Looks like more than that, right? I know.

Nature's Symphony makes a simple and elegant greeting

Today's card goes to show you don't need a lot of supplies to make a statement. On your simple card base, add an embossed layer. I always like to include something that blends into the background of the card but also adds texture and dimension. This one's retired - Lovely Stripes - and ticks the box nicely. Then some strips of patterened paper with a focal point and greeting finished off with a few embellishments. Simple and elegant. Enjoy!

These All Aflutter butterflies are the perfect addition to cards. These are the ones I settled on from the ones I stamped and punched out from photo 2. Do you do this? Punch or die cut a bunch and then decide? I just tuck them into the stamp set sleeve and next time I'm looking for one, I'm set.

Pretty Flowers with Boutique Blooms Dies

What a creative way to use these Scalloped Blooms dies! Thank you Marcy Denning for this beautiful card in our Silver Sister Swap. To add texture, scrunch up the cardstock after die cutting (yes I said scrunch it up) and add a little coordinating ink to the edges with a sponge dauber, wedge of sponge or blending brush. Then layer them up. I love how Marcy incorporated two embellishments on the same card - I never would have thought to do that - with the Antique Pearls and new In Color Butterflies. Oh so pretty!

Using up Boho Vibes paper with cute treat holders

Was looking for the perfect treat holder to help me use up DSP and to add cuteness to these treats for my Elmira Community Living class this week! First off...let me just say that for $6.99 for 15, these full-sized bars are a great price for surprise and delight treats to hand out. I was thinking of making the bars, but decided I should stay in my lane and use the time to make the cute holders. This is the Boho Vibes patterned paper so when you're placing your new catalogue order, pick it up off the Last Chance list for $13.60 for 48 sheets! How did I make these? I used the retired Envelope Punch Board. If you've got one, you know how to use it. Your first score on the 6 x 6 inch paper is at 2 5/8 inches. Fold and adhere. Made 10 in less than 10 mins!

All Aflutter in a show-stopping fun fold

Love a fun fold card and this one is a show-stopper! Designed for my Avid Stampers class later this month, the card features the new All Aflutter stamp set and punch bundle. I'm having a great time creating simple and more complex cards using these butterflies. They are a favourite of mine. So much so, my daughter has been known to reminder me, "Mum - not everyone loves butterflies as much as you do". Stack and Shuffle Card Technique

This card layout was a CASE from Brian King in the U.S. I was really drawn to making this based on the pretty colours in the Garden Poetry patterned paper. You cut 4 of the patterns to 3.75 inches by 5 inches. Stack them and cut all at the same time in 3 places to end up with 4 generous sized chunks. I did a little measuring to get the 4 pieces. Then stack and shuffle them to get one of each pattern on a piece of Basic White measuring 3.75 inches by 5 inches. Matte as many times as you like onto the cardbase and embellish. Each card is a little different but they all work beautifully together. The butterflies from All Aflutter are my new favourite!
