Beautifully Celebrated peek-through card

Must confess that I’m finally using the May Product of the Month Berry Botanical Vellum paper. It’s so beautiful that I was holding back cutting into it. Don’t do that! Be brave and enjoy the moment. I have a special friend in mind to send this card to as she’s carrying a lot these days on her shoulders. I hope this brings joy and a smile to her day. Enjoy!

It's a Delicate Dream

Bringing you a fun pop out card with the Everyday Arches as the focal point. Today’s card has loads or room for writing a large message for the recipient. To balance the layers on the front, I layered the inside with Basic White matted onto Hydrangea Hue. With this layout, you can use the thinner Basic White for your card base and be confident that it will keep it’s shape even in our humid summer climate. Gotta love those little butterflies in Hydrangea Hue to finish it off. Enjoy!

On a Waterside Retreat

I’m on holidays this week from the “day job” and mostly hanging out at home. But you’ll be I’ll have a book on the go even if I’m not sitting dockside. We made this card at the June Avid Stampers class using our amazing Relaxing Waterside Bundle and coordinating Waterside Retreat patterned paper. To make the hanging sign, use the cast off pieces from the back of the chair. Enjoy!

Get the Artisan Sketched Garden paper for floral cards

Sneak peek of one of the cards we’re making at my Team Stampin’ Social next week! Gorgeous Greens in Moonlit Flora

Ooh la la! Love the bold shades of Golden Glow and Berry Burst offset by a variety of greens on this one! Use those die cuts in your collection to layer up some goodness. The two squares are 2.5 inches and slightly offset to add depth and perspective. Can never have enough embossed bits. Seriously – this is a 6+ layer card from base to the linen thread. Really makes a statement and ready to brighten up someone’s day.

Spectacular Boutique Bloom card

I was inspired by my Silver Sister, Tamara Bertram’s card for this layout. Over the embossed layer, are 1 inch squares from the sensational Boutique Bloom specialty designer series paper. Finished it off with a die cut, greeting and ribbon for a quick and elegant card. Use any patterned paper and embossing folder to duplicate. Do you like it? Let me know!

Flowers Fair Bouquet

Do you like to colour? Maybe instead, you’d prefer to add colour with a sponge dauber or blending brush onto a stamp? Either way, Wendy’s Team Shoebox Swap card from June 6, is a stunner featuring this gorgeous background stamp called Flowers Fair. We stamped the image in Granny Apple Green ink then coloured in with 4 shades of Stampin’ Blends: Lemon Lolly, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green and Timid Tiger. Turned out great and really screams, “Bring on Summer!”

Birthday Greetings in Moonlit Flora

Have you played with this patterned paper yet? The Moonlit Flora designer series paper is so luxurious with the new Golden Glow flowers popping right off the page against the various greens. Thanks to Stacey for designing this card for our June shoebox swap. The patterned paper layer is 3” tall by 3 ¾” wide giving you 12 cards from one sheet of 12 x 12 - now that’s a value! With some matching ribbon and a greeting, the card comes together quickly.

Cut your photopolymer stamps apart - I did so with Floral Vignette

Doesn't this look just like patterned paper? Oh friends, it is not! It's not even multiple single stamps because I cannot see me being able to get this great pattern done that way. I cut - yes I said cut - my Floral Vignette stamp out of its frame piece to make the background stamp two stamps. It goes back together easily for those times when I'll want the full image. This gives so many creative choices with the one stamp. Give that a try with your stamps.

Filling Your Heart with Sweetness

Here’s a bundle that escaped my keen eyes in our Online Exclusives section: Filled with Sweetness. The dies make the car in the shape of a jam jar and it’s a great size at 3 ⅝” x 4 ⅛”. Comes with all the adorable bits for dressing up the jar: top edge mimicking fabric, strawberries and blueberries, a bow, tiny flowers and several labels. Thanks, Jane, for designing this one for our shoebox swap!

Throw Back look at Eyelet Blooms Die

Holly’s June Shoebox creation highlights the Eyelet Blooms die. This was definitely worth the $7 add on. Here’s a tip: using an adhesive sheet on the back to help remove the tiny holes in this delicate eyelet pattern. Pairing with Petal Pink, Peaceful Pine and Strawberry Slush for the accents, it turned out beautifully. Thanks, Holly, for sharing this card design with us!

White Craft Ink for a delicate layer

Thrilled to share today’s card designed by Dawn for our June Shoebox Swap. It’s been ages since I’ve flipped open the White Craft ink to stamp with and I’m glad we got to do just that. The Cloud Cover layer has the subtle white craft ink stamping on it with a hint of Old Olive for the leaves. What an amazing colour combo! I can see using this for a sympathy or thinking of you card. So pretty and delicate.

Stunning black and white card with some old and new products: the Nested Essentials dies and Artisan Sketched Garden DSP bursting with images to cut out such as flowers in vases. A personal touch with a bookmark insert

My Silver Sister Shauna Mikuliak designed this exceptional card with an adorable bookmark tucked into the left side flap. Wouldn't this make the perfect card to add to the gift of a book for someone special? I'm thinking of my many friends in book clubs who would love this. Side Flap Fold featuring All Aflutter

This side flap fold is a a nice "step it up" type of card. Adding an insert sliding out really makes a statement. This card layout works both vertically and horizontally. For my card today it was all about the vertical layout. The inside also has space for a gift card. You know I love butterflies so no surprise I'm featuring loads of them through this spring. 3 x 3 Treat Holders featuring All Aflutter

My class attendees take home a treat holder with something sweet or adorable inside from each class. I love researching and designing these for them especially finding ways to upsize and change them for new treats inside. This was from my May Avid class where everyone took home the All Aflutter stamp set and punch bundle. These are 3" x 3" x 1" boxes. Aren't they darling? They hold a cookie or some chocolate. I found the "Made Good" mini granola bites which come with several in a tiny pouch fit nicely inside.

Draper Fun Fold with Bloom Boutique

Here's a fun fold I haven't done in ages: The Drapery Fold. Helps use up a third of a sheet of patterned paper as you start with 4 inches by 12 inches. You'll want to pick a sheet where the pattern on both sides compliment one another as this fold shows off both sides.

Measurements:
  1. Cardbase: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; score in the middle and burnish
  2. Hydrangea Hue layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  3. Patterned Paper for the drapery fold: 4" x 11 1/2"
    • Score along the 11 1/2" side at: 3", 4", 6", 7", 9" and 10"
    • On the right side (where the 10" score line is), mark down at 1" from the top with a pencil.
    • Cut from the pencil mark to the left 3" score line
    • Fold accordion style (back and forth).
    • From the short end (the end where your pencil mark is, cut off 1/4"

Designing with Circles

More with Circles! Use your punches or dies to create a fun background to show off coordinating patterned paper like the Moonlit Flora. My focal point on the white stitched circle is my favourite image from the Cutest Crew Stamp Set. Three quirky birds on the grass. Reminds me of the many birds swarming the bird feeder lately just trying to get some seed for themselves. The greeting is perfect for sending off to friends and family that are friends!

All Aflutter with gold foil accents

When designing this swap card, I was looking to build using mutiple layers with gold accents, and the new All Aflutter butterflies. A whisper of Barely Blush paired with Basic Black really gets that gold to pop. StaZon ink is the go-to ink for working with slippery surfaces like foil papers and window sheets. A fresh, delicate card. Enjoy!

Looking for an easy Technique to boost your card making up a notch? Try the Inlaid Embossing Technique. Cut multiple shapes of patterned paper or intermingle with cardstock as I've done on this card. Bloom Boutique paper bursting with new In Colors

Loving playing with our 2026-2028 In Colors, in particular the return of Crisp Cantaloupe and the new Peaceful Pine on today's card. The delicate flowers on this patterned paper called Bloom Boutique with gold accents is a real stunner. To get these nicely matted, cut your patterned paper to 3 inches by 4 inches and the matte to 3.25 inches by 4.25 inches. Cut them both in half on the diagonal and they will match up beautifully. Cut up your Stamps - did she really say that?

Gonna let you in on a secret with today's stamp....it's a Background stamp called Floral Vignette with a lovely dotted oval pattern all around but I wanted more versatility so I cut the floral image out of the frame. What?
Yes, I cut it out. Photopolymer works great for that so now I have the oval frame separate from the floral stamp and I can easily put them together on block to use as it was intended. So very happy with this thank you card.

Moonlit Flora Divine Circles Card

I've definitely been on a "circle" kick with my card designs! It's just a great way to a) use up some scraps of pretty papers and b) show off several patterns on one card. Today's features the Moonlit Flora which is my current go-to pattern. I've die cut the circles with the you-gotta-have-them Stylish Shapes dies layered over the Paradise Garden hybrid folder. Love how all the layers add texture and depth to this card. Enjoy!

Sweet Birthday Card featuring the Nests of Winter Paper

Along with butterflies, one of my other favourite focal points on a card is birds. All kinds - all species - all colours. At my bird feeders in the backyard oasis, I am frequently visited by the Grackles so I've switched to Songbird seed to attract more colourful and less "pushy" types. This card was born out of seeing some cardinals, finches and sparrows visiting the perch. This paper is retired but I still have loads of the birds to continue making more cards like this.

A Cutest Crew for some Cute New Friends

I recently attended a De-Stash Garage sale in my community which was a smash hit, I must say! Lots of vendors and amazing finds. Watch for it at the Salvation Army Church May 2027....anyhow, at the event I did a few draws from among those who signed up for my newsletter with the prize being a card class with 3 of their friends. This is one of the 3 cards we're doing at these classes. Easy to duplicate with any shapes besides circles and your fave critter. For me, that's the feathered kind. Enjoy!

Scenic Coast Eclipse Card

The Eclipse card is taking the cardmaking world by storm - you see them everywhere you look for inspiration. The trick is using two of the exact same pieces of patterned paper, trimming one into half inch strips and adhering every other one using adhesive strips over the original pattern. Then add your embellishments, a focal point and greeting. On this one in particular, it's a gorgeous sunset scene using the Scenic Coast paper. How gorgeous! Give it a try.

Here's a great way to use 1.25 inch scraps of various patterns in the pack. Since they all colour match so beautifully, pick 3 to matte and add your greeting and a focal point. Double Collar Fun Fold showing off the Bloom Boutique patterned paper

I came across the Double Collar Card fold a few months ago and really love who this shows off both sides of coordinating patterned paper. Use it with any in your stash. I use a 2.5 inch wide strip down the middle (the centre floral pattern) then on either side, the reverse pattern measuring 1.75 inches wide each. They overlap a wee bit then fold back the top and bottom inside edges to make the collar look. Anything that doesn't line up perfectly will be hidden by the focal point in the centre. This was my team swap card for May as I really wanted to incorporate the new All Aflutter Bundle and Bloom Boutique patterned paper. Enjoy!
