It seems like the trees and grasses have just popped over the last week or so. A little sun, a bunch of rain and warmer temps have that amazing effect of turning dried out left-over winter blahs into spring colour. Let's play, "which stamp is this?". Any guesses? I'll let you in on a secret - the flowers in the planter are from the Artisan Sketched Garden pattern paper and hand cut out. This is divine! I love all the black and white with a splash of colour from Poppy Parade on the flowers and the oh so cute ladybug embellishment. Adding this paper pack to my cart now. What about you?

Balloon Festoon - what a fun name for this stamp set and die bundle! Love how Desiree Simpson - one of my Silver Sisters - embossed the balloon die cut with a coordinating daisy print. This is a totally duplicatable layout with your favourite products. For reference cut your strips between a half inch and three-quarters of an inch for great coverage on the front layer. I think I'll be CASE-ing this one! Thanks, Des.
Way to add layers to a card with a clean colour palate of the new Hydrangea Hue and white with a little hint of Peaceful Pine in the patterned paper. I count 6 layers including the cardbase which was over the top for our recent swap criteria! This really demonstrates how just two colours - Basic White and Hydrangea Hue - adding varied textures and layers packs a lot into one project. Enjoy!
Sometimes it's the patterned paper that makes the card! So it is with this delicate colour combination from the Velvet Meadow 12 inch x 12 inch pack. Today's card was designed by Genevieve Ko and I love how the layers are highlighted using the Everyday Arches dies instead of a rectangle. Thanks, Gen for this pretty card.
I was thrilled to receive today's stunning card from Mary Louise Hamill for our new catalogue swap! There is so much texture in the popped up layers against the soft shading of the embossing folder. I live a mere 2 hour drive from some of the very best sunsets on Lake Huron in Ontario. It's always a wonderful sight to see - when you're visiting the area, you just have to go down to the beach every night to see their magnificance.
At the Scrapford Crop I attended end April, I was busy with my head down making the cards for upcoming classes. This one came together wonderfully according to my vision for it: using this stunning copper foil accented pattern paper with heat embossed butterflies across the front. Surprised at how well the copper went with Secret Sea and Gray Granite tones. Sharing a very pretty card designed by our May Creative Ambassador, Dawn, featuring the Boutique Blossoms stamp set. There are dies to coordinate or easily hand cut out. Love the petals bordering the die cut in a bright and cheery design This is a two-step stamp set allowing you to stamp the floral outline in one colour (Early Espresso) and the inside in a coordinating shade. I tried a Peek-a-Boo card for one of my Avid classes and this was the original design. Three layers of diamond shapes layered in front of the opening. This card stands up so nicely on the mantel or shelf. With loads of neutrals from the Delicate Dreams paper paired with a splash of blue and copper to show it off. Love how it turned out!
There's something about pairing a soft yellow with blues. This is Lovely Lemon and Misty Moonlight with Basic White and gold accents found in the Kintsugi Inspirations paper. This layout is called a Fractured Card and goes together quite simply: place your diamond in the centre of the card and add .25 inch strips on all four sides leading off the layer. Looks like more than that, right? I know.
Look at all the texture on today's card from my Silver Sister, Glenda Mollett! Even the Scenic Coast Speciality DSP looks to have a linen texture to it on the circle. Love, love, love this, Glenda! The chair comes from the Relaxing Waterside Dies. This will be awesome for scrapbooking, too. Enjoy!
These All Aflutter butterflies are the perfect addition to cards. These are the ones I settled on from the ones I stamped and punched out from photo 2. Do you do this? Punch or die cut a bunch and then decide? I just tuck them into the stamp set sleeve and next time I'm looking for one, I'm set.
What a creative way to use these Scalloped Blooms dies! Thank you Marcy Denning for this beautiful card in our Silver Sister Swap. To add texture, scrunch up the cardstock after die cutting (yes I said scrunch it up) and add a little coordinating ink to the edges with a sponge dauber, wedge of sponge or blending brush. Then layer them up. I love how Marcy incorporated two embellishments on the same card - I never would have thought to do that - with the Antique Pearls and new In Color Butterflies. Oh so pretty!
Was looking for the perfect treat holder to help me use up DSP and to add cuteness to these treats for my Elmira Community Living class this week! First off...let me just say that for $6.99 for 15, these full-sized bars are a great price for surprise and delight treats to hand out. I was thinking of making the bars, but decided I should stay in my lane and use the time to make the cute holders. This is the Boho Vibes patterned paper so when you're placing your new catalogue order, pick it up off the Last Chance list for $13.60 for 48 sheets! How did I make these? I used the retired Envelope Punch Board. If you've got one, you know how to use it. Your first score on the 6 x 6 inch paper is at 2 5/8 inches. Fold and adhere. Made 10 in less than 10 mins!
Lush elegant colours on today's card from my Silver Sister Cindy Piggott where she used the gorgeous Moonlit Flora paper with one of our new In Colors, Golden Glow. This is a really economical way to use your pattern paper, too. From a 2" strip, you can get 12 cards out of a sheet of 12" x 12" paper by using it on the left with cardstock on the right. Hide the seam with a cast off strip of cardstock to hide the seam. This is a gorgeous card, Cindy!
Do you find Masculine cards to be a bit of a challenge to make? I do. Finding the right texture - ribbon or no ribbon - colours and just the right stamp - can all be a bit daunting. Nature's Symphony is such a versatile stamp set and with this large leaf in the coordinating die set, we've got you covered. The one die made this hashtag cut out above the greeting. What a nice touch. Embellished simply with the matching ribbon. This one's a keeper layout!

A quick and easy thank you card for those times when you just need one in a pinch. The colour palette is Petal Pink - Pool Party - Early Espresso which spoke to me. We'll be making this one for Monthly Card Class in May. I know the ladies in my class are going to enjoy working with this stamp and the various layers on this springtime card.
Love a fun fold card and this one is a show-stopper! Designed for my Avid Stampers class later this month, the card features the new All Aflutter stamp set and punch bundle. I'm having a great time creating simple and more complex cards using these butterflies. They are a favourite of mine. So much so, my daughter has been known to reminder me, "Mum - not everyone loves butterflies as much as you do". But I do...truly....with flowers and pretty paper they are a go-to focal point on any card. You'll be seeing a lot of these this month!

This card layout was a CASE from Brian King in the U.S. I was really drawn to making this based on the pretty colours in the Garden Poetry patterned paper. You cut 4 of the patterns to 3.75 inches by 5 inches. Stack them and cut all at the same time in 3 places to end up with 4 generous sized chunks. I did a little measuring to get the 4 pieces. Then stack and shuffle them to get one of each pattern on a piece of Basic White measuring 3.75 inches by 5 inches. Matte as many times as you like onto the cardbase and embellish. Each card is a little different but they all work beautifully together. The butterflies from All Aflutter are my new favourite!
We'll be making this card at my May Monthly Card Class - both in person and kit-to-go options. The Toadstools are so perfect for this time of year and the greetings from Banner Greetings are ideal for any age. I decided to add a small embossed layer with the ladybug picnic folder which I added ink to with a blending brush for added interest. Each month I do a four card tutorial for my team members - hey, membership has its privileges! This is one of the cards for May's tutorial and really is understated with the Nature's Symphony bundle. Doing the die cuts in various neutral shades brings out the Secret Sea colours around it. A perfect card for all occasions!
Sending Thinking of you card is a lovely way to stay in touch with family, friends, and customers if you have a business. I send out about 300 a year so I'm always making multiples to spread the joy. This one came together quickly with some linen thread as another layer between the stamped leaves and the greeting. Nice neutral colours for anyone and any occasion. Enjoy!
Making simple cards isn't always a thing we do...often it's bigger - better - more! So it was nice to step back and make more of a clean and simple card. On the white layer, I placed a few little score lines for attention and where they meet I covered with this flower from the Paradise Garden bundle stamped in Poppy Parade. The greeting and the die for it are also from the same bundle. Then I sprinkled 3 Iridescent Pearls that were coloured with Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Blends to tie it all together with the matte and the card base. Sweet and uncomplicated! What do you think?
These Wagon Wheels treat holders will be a hit with the Elmira Community Living class this week. They always love a treat at the end of their crafting session. These came together super easily: Cardstock cut at 8.5 inch x 8.5 inch then cut on a diagonal. With the wide edge horizontal on the score board, score at 4 inches and 8 inches. Fold in each side to seal. That's it! I used cardstock but this would work just as easily with patterned paper. Super cute!
A pretty Framed All Around card with the floral image heat embossed in silver on a Perennial Postage die. Each flower was coloured with Poppy Parade and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. The dies are poppedup onto a piece of poppy parade then centred top to bottom on basic white embossed with the Beautiful Pattern embossing folder before adhere to the poppy parade card base. All it needs are a few rhinestone embellishments and white baker’s twine coloured with poppy parade Stampin' Blends to finish it off. A beautiful card from my Team member Wendy.
Blast from the past making a card with the retired Jungle Pals bundle. Thought I'd share with you all with a back story! The mascot for our Crop weekend is the sloth. This is the ONE stamp set with a sloth in it - I mean how many do you need? Perfect for my tablemate cards. With sloth mode on, we are most certainly relaxing. Happy Day!
I'm away at a Crop for this weekend in Stratford with 48 of my favourite scrappers. Most of the gang that attends does scrapbooking/memory keeping. I'm seated with my little band of merry card makers. This is one of the little gifties I made to share with my tablemates complete with a bag of Hershey kisses because who doesn't NEED chocolate when they craft? The box is simple: 6 x 6 inch square scored on all four sides at 1 inch. Then on one side score also at 2.5 inches and 3.5 inches. Fold up the bottoms and fold down the inside at the top. Like a said...super simple!
Nothing like a slim line card to display coordinating patterned papers! This layout really uses up those scraps by displaying them beautifully. The greeting is from the Exploring Nature stamp set. That one comes with large greetings that are perfect for memory keeping and on large card fronts like this one. I think this would be an awesome card for someone striking out on their own, going on an adventure, leaving for College or University. Lots of possibilities. What do you think?
Featuring my Team member Wendy's Creative Ambassador card CASEd from JilliBling. She started by choosing a patterned paper from Lovely and Beautiful and was inspired to use a coordinating card stock colour palette from there. For layers, Wendy used the Everyday Arches dies, embossing the outer arch. The floral image and sentiment are done in gold embossing powder and she coloured the flower with Stampin' Blends. These embellishments are retired but very much like the current Flower Accents. Beautiful card, Wendy!
Tried the Faux Tile look for today's card by cutting my Basic White layer to 4 inches by 5 inches providing even 1 inch segments. Who says a card needs to be 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches? To achieve this look, I scored the white first at 1 inch on all sides. Next I stamped the image o the debossed side using this gorgeous Blueberry Bushel ink. The score lines creating the faux tile peek through. The flower, greeing and die are from the Paradise Garden bundle. Paired with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock it sure pops. Enjoy!

For the cat lover in all of us....this card from my team member Holly is so darling. You can just see the kittens playing. I call this a "triples" card layout...with 3 small images - in this case die cuts - on theme. I find the little flowers look like wallpaper as a nice backdrop. Love the colour palette of Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Pecan Pie. Enjoy!

What a way to use your circle punches or dies! Today's card was created by my talented team member, Dawn and uses 3 different sizes of punch circles in cut paper, folded over (but not quite fully in half) and the folded over side popped up on a dimensional. I'm so impressed that she hand drew the legs for each bird. This is over the top darling and I'll be making my own version of it real soon for monthly card class. Thanks, Dawn!
For my swap card at this month's Team Stampin' Social, I did some heat embossing with gold from the Metallics WOW! embossing powder collection together with the large floral from the Simply Beautiful stamp set. The greeting was also embossed in gold with a layer of gold foik paper and some flower accents to tie it all together. Once embossed, use a blending brush to add a soft colouring to the centre of the flower and leaves. I think this makes a lovely wedding card!

Beautiful swap card from my team member Jane showing off the new Moonlit Flora Suite of products. The embossing folder has so much depth and dimension. It will quickly become your go-to folder for everyday cards. When I'm prepping embossed layers for a class, I love how you can just pop the paper in and not have to be precise when lining it up in the folder. Helps with making a bunch of these. Would double as a panel on a memory keeping page, as well. The paper has a lovely mix of colours: Basic Black, Berry Burst, Golden Glow, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Peaceful Pine, Pecan Pie, Secret Sea, Soft Sea Foam. Super card!

This is the BBQ Master Bundle and features 14 stamps and 22 dies for just $54.75.
