Fresh as a Daisy Card

Stunning card and oh to duplicatable from Karen Flores at our Vegas "swap by the pool" event. Sometimes you just want to show off both sides of patterned paper - here's one way!

Measurements & Instructions

Card base in Bubble Bath measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
White layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
Patterned Paper: 3 3/4" x 5"
Along the long side at the top, cut down 1 3/4" at the middle point and fold over the front.
Stamp your greeting in this opening.
Cute heart buttons can be found in the Give It a Whirl or Cracker and Treat Box dies or use a favourite punch. Add a pearl in the middle of each. Tie a scrap of ribbon into a knot and place below greeting.

You're Just My Type!

Hello friends, Happy Friday! What a great card for your favourite Admin Professional. Now, my son Alec tells me all.the.time that Admin Professionals Day must happen more than once a year because I always reference it! Nope...just in April...but I guess there are some activities and cards that make me think of it. I do remember working as a secretary when we used typewriters (and the Telex Machine, Gestetner, but not horse and pony LOL).

Dainty Details Dies at their finest!

WOW! What a stunning card with so many gorgeous layers and texture. I received this in a swap at Backstage in Vegas from Sherry Wayt and I'm in awe of the triple bow with silver trim through it.

The no cardstock Matte Layer

Sound intriguing? It was to me, too! Check out What's up Wednesday September 27, 2023 where we added the appearance of a layer without cardstock around our stamped layer:

Super easy when you have one of our amazing Classic Stamp pads! Just drag the edges of your white cardstock (in this case the stamped layer above) across the ink pad carefully to pick up the coordinating Blueberry Bushel ink.

MEASUREMENTS:

Cardbase in Berry Burst at 4 1/4" x 11"

Inside layer in Basic White measuring 4" x 5 1/4"

Stamping Layer in Basic White measuring 3" x 5 1/4"

Scrap for your greeting and scalloped oval

Wanted to Say Dies - oh look at how these were used!

We all need B irthday Cards! The card is nicely balanced with a popped up balloon suitable for anyone's birthday. I love that Kathy Howes - who swapped this with me in Vegas by the pool (that was a sight to see by the way!) - used the dies on this one in a very different way than was intended I'm sure! Want to know how? Read on...

So how are these Happy Birthday dies used differently? Usually we "pop up" die cuts. In this case, the background die (matte version of the words Happy Birthday) was cut out of the ombre paper layer. This shows off the Night of Navy behind that patterned paper and leaves the matte recessed into the patterned paper. Gives a great impression! These "Wanted to Say" dies are then intended to have the detailed version cut in another colour - in this case Basic White and placed onto the matte. Love this subtle difference!

Night of Navy Layer 3 3/4" x 5"

Delicate Translucent Florals Congratulations!

I always think...I've got lots of florals but this one? Yep, on order now: Translucent Florals. So soft and delicate this will make great wedding, sympathy and everyday cards like this Congratulations one from Elizabeth Ames received in our Sep-Dec Mini swap. I love all the textures on this card!

Here are some of my favourite features of this card:

• Background stamping with matching Berry Burst ink onto the card layer
• Tone-on-tone layering (front layer of 4" x 5 1/4" is the same colour as the card base)
• White layer to make that card pop! And done in a die which "just" shows it off allowing that beautiful background stamping to show through
• A combination of vellum and cardstock to create various textures on the flower
• The three little iridescent pearls with the middle one coloured in with the coordinating Berry Burst Stampin' Blends

Monday Creative Escape CASE card Sep 25 2023

Had a fun time playing with the Darling Details two-step stamping set to make this card for our Creative Escape. Soft subtle colours with a neutral is all you need - see the Supplies list below.

MEASUREMENTS

Cardbase in Lost Lagoon 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2" and folded

Embossed Layer in Lemon Lolly 4" x 5 1/4"

Stamping Layer in Basic White starting at 3 1/4" x 4 1/8". Then copy to 1 3/8" tall strips.

Inside Layer (not pictured) in Basic White 4" x 5 1/4"

SSS Super Team Event Project: A fold flat tall gift bag

Yesterday I participated in a super fun event put on by my Silver Sisters! Join my team and you can be a part of it, too!

Three times a year we host a day long project extravaganza where there are about 12 presentations - some live and some recorded. the best thing is it's FREE and so long as you are a team member you have access to ALL the content - current and past with measurements, videos, and pictures. Above is my project. The cool thing is we rarely talk about what we're doing and yet - like a good potluck meal - there are rarely any duplicates! There are fun fold cards, scrapbook pages, techniques and my favourite: 3D items. Here's another version I made as pillow gifts for my two roommates - Elizabeth and Tamara - in Vegas in August 2023:

On the black and white one, I stamped images and greetings from the Next Destination stamp set all over a 12" x 12" piece of White cardstock. Regular 12 x 12 will be too thick so stick to the White or Vanilla for stamping or grab a double-sided patterned paper for yours. Enjoy!

Measurements

Patterned Paper: 12" x 12" Score on one side at 2" and score on the other side at: 2" , 5 3/4", 7 3/4", and 11 1/2"

Strips for the double-handle version: 1 3/4" x 12" (cut two). Roll on a dowel and affix inside the bag. Outside and inside strips of cardstock to "hide" the handles: 3/4" x 3 3/4". Use brads to adhere in place.

Elegant Christmas Card

Received this lovely Christmas Card in a swap - in Vegas - (but I do other swaps too!) from my dear friend and travel partner, Elizabeth Green. Isn't it simple and elegant? Sometimes we expect to go over the top but I know my friends like something that is easily duplicatable - am I right?

I have some of the best friends - near and far! And I count Shauna Mikuliak as one. Isn't she talented? This gorgeously feminine card was her design for our when we swapped cards in Vegas in August 2023. Pick any stamp set and cardstock and recreate this layout for any occasion.

Boo!

Eek! Super cute hallowe'en card for your favourite ghoul or goblin! This one from Tamra Davis from our BackStage Swaparama. Who does the top left one remind you of? I have a thought on it.

MEASUREMENTS:

Cardbase: 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2" and folded

Strips of cardstock: 3" x 1/2" 
Scraps for your stamping and die cutting

TIPS:
To get those strips lined up nicely and appearing to "float" on the card front, adhere them to a piece of window sheet leaving a wee space between.  No window sheet? Your Photopolymer stamp sets come with a thick window sheet piece so keep those just for this idea. Place your dimensionals on the window sheet but behind where the strips are so they are hidden. And you've got a floating layer!

Use your Stampin' Blends or any permanent marker to colour your clear gems, rhinestones and pearls to coordinate with your project.

Not a Hallowe'en fan? Keep this layout handy and use it with other colours, images, stamps and embellishments. It's a super cute idea!

A Dainty Thank you Card

Swap card from Maui! thanks to Anne Matasci for Backstage swap card featuring a great combination of red, black and white. Super duplicatable so how will you recreate it?

For rectangular dies like Deckled, layer them onto a piece that is cut with straight lines to add some extra matted space behind and interest to your layer. The ribbon is used in a really unique way here just scrunched up and adhered to the left side vs the typical "tie it in a knot or bow" way. Love it!

Got Stampin' Blends that coordinate? Use them to colour your Rhinestone Basic Jewels (or and pearls) for a matching look.
