Blending Brush technique with Grassy Grove and Greetings of the Season

Tearing paper, sponging a background and splattier...it's all part of what we paper crafters do! To create the circular backdrop, I cut a piece of paper the exact same size as my card front (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") and cut a Deckled Circle out of it with my die. Using temporary adhesive, I fastenend them together. Then applied 3 colours of ink using a Blending Brush (Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly and Smoky Slate). Remove that temporary layer and stamp away! It still needed something on the bottom and truth be told after all that I didn't want my stamping to be crooked, so I tore the top edge of a 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of white after stamping the greeting. The deer is from the Groves Dies; the stamp from Grassy Grove and some Rhinestones for bling! To finish it off, though, I splattered with my Wink of Stella. Love this holiday card!

Summer Favourite: Blueberry Bunches

What's your summer favourite: Blueberries, Raspberries or Strawberries? We get such an abundance for a short time and don't you just love that? I do indulge in blueberries year round as I love them for adding to pancakes, tea biscuits and of course fresh on my Cheerios. Sometimes you get a stamp set "just because" which is what it was for me with Blueberry Bunches. Reminds me of this sweet summer treat!

This is the Bird's Eye View stamp set with loads of bird images you can colour in or leave as line art stamps. the "Wanted to Say Dies" have this vertical shaped die perfect for the occasion. Sea Turtle in Gold Embossing

Gorgeous gold embossing to show of this amazing creature from the Sea Turtle Reversible Stamp Set. With some gold flecked patterned paper behind on Pretty Peacock card base, you get a true regal effect. There's a smaller turtle stamp in the set which I've randomly placed on the card base with the matching Pretty Peacock ink. The greeting comes from the Wanted to Say die set and is cut from gold foil paper for elegance on a white matte. Great card for any celebration!

Painted Lavender Triplet Card Layout

Happy Wednesday! Bringing you a simple "triplet" card with 3 small panels courtesy of the perennial postage dies and perennial lavender images done in Lost Lagoon and Berry Burst. I played with different sizes of those rectangular dies to come up just the right ratio to show off the flowers but not too much white space. Hope you give this layout a try with products in your stash!

Grassy Grove in the evening light

Here's a card I shared on the Global Inspiration Stamp Team weekend featuring Grassy Grove. While the weekend was all about using non-Christmas stamp sets for a holiday card, this was an extra one I made showing how to use scrap paper, inks and a blending brush to add snowbanks or in this case clouds of colour on the background. Secretly I love this one the most of all the ones I made for that event! To achieve the moon, punch out a piece of masking paper and sponge your background before lifting the masking paper.

Lily Pond Lane Patterned Paper steals the show!

The Lily Pond Lane patterned paper is the star of the show on today's card - just a greeting and embellishments needed to finish this gorgeous card. Pretty Peacock, Peach Pie and Pretty in Pink are the colour palette and oh so pretty together. The circles are from the Spotlight on Nature set which next so perfectly. Enjoy!

Reversible Stamps are genius!

Made up this quick thank you card for a friend who loves walking along the beach and trips to sunny destinations all year round. A reminder of those happy holidays spent enjoying sand, sea and sun. While there's no turtle on this card, it's from the Sea Turtle reversible stamp set. Images are mirrored so the back side of the photopolymer stamp is the background stamp and the front has all the detail. Genius!

To Pickle or not to Pickle with your Bistro Burger?

Do you like pickles? Seems you love or you don't and no in between! Never have I never had a pickle stamp so this is a first. Making the bistro burger cards for my class July 30 had me using all of my neutral coloured Stampin' Blends trying out various ones for just the right burger and bun combo! Pulled in some Cajun Craze patterned paper to pair with Basic Beige and Old Olive for a masculine feel to this card. Enjoyed designing this as an easel pop up card. Have a great weekend!

Sweet Citrus Blooms

A fresh orange anyone? Yep I stamped and coloured this one in with Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight alcohol based markers. Added a little stamping at either end of the white panel and layered it onto a panel of Night of Navy patterned paper from the coordinating Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper pack. So fresh looking you almost want to peel it right now. Enjoying my Citrus Blooms bundle for some all occasion cards. The dies also cut out the coordinating patterned paper making it a sweet suite of products for your stash!

Memories of carp from Lily Pond Lane

Growing up my dad took us fishing on weekends and I remember the huge 3 ft long carp swimming in the shallow waters. Seeing them swirl and dance in unison so they didn't bump one another fascinated me. This pattern from Lily Pond Lane reminded me of those summer days. Never have I seen a pink one - mostly the usual gold/orange colour - but this paper is oh so cute. Enjoy!

A super simple fun fold to jazz up your usual card layout as the centre flap flips up to reveal a layer inside for writing your message. The Sea Turtle set comes with 8 amazing image stamps which are reversible. I paired it up with the new Unbounded Love greeting set. Enjoy!

Christmas in July with Grassy Grove

Hot of the press, here's my card from today's Global Stamp Inspiration Team event where we have back to back presentations. Our challenge this time was to use a stamp set from the Annual Catalogue which isn't specifically a Christmas one plus show some other samples using it. I chose Grassy Grove and taught some sponging techniques showing this card in shades of blue, green and grey. The trees look like they're in the snowbanks! Grabbed the sentiment from a new Online Exclusive stamp set called Greetings of the Season. Enjoy!

Spotlight on Nature in Peach Pie and Shy Shamrock In Colors

Here's the 4th card we made at my team Stampin' Social last night featuring the very popular Spotlight on Nature stamp set. We used the marker to stamp technique to get one colour - Peach Pie - on the flowers and a second - Shy Shamrock - on the leaves and stems. With the texture built into the stamp, you get beautiful lines without having to colour in the stamp. Love the Peach Pie cardbase and bordered ribbon to finish it off!

Saying thanks with Spotlight on Nature

Couldn't wait to get my hands on this stamp set, Spotlight on Nature. It has been so popular - did you get yours? I'm doing a class featuring it on August 27. Sign up today!

For today, I used Pretty in Pink patterened paper, watercolor pencils and a blender pen on both the flower and butterfly. When going for a soft look, try Gray Granite or Smoky Slate instead of Tuxedo Black memento ink and carefully blend. Enjoy!

Level Complete for the Birthday Win!

Happy 26th Birthday to my youngest, Alec!

He is a very avid gamer so I knew the Level Complete stamp set (retired) was a perfect choice. Made this card in his favourite colours and he loved it. Excited to spend the day with him as I'm on vacay and he took today off. We're heading out for lunch at a local Thai restaurant and hanging out at home. Hope your day levels up!

Sketched Butterflies: colour or leave neutral?

Next week is my Team Stampin' Social and this is the first of four cards we're making together. What's not to love about the Sketched Butterflies bundle? Beautiful images that you can colour (as shown here with Pool Party on the smaller ones) or leave neutral as with the the larger ones stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Experimenting with a different layer of white on white. This one is 4" tall by 5" wide leaving a slightly wide border on the left and right sides. What do you think?

Dotted Circles meets Sketched Butterflies

Here's a bold colour combination: Blackberry Bliss and Lemon Lime Twist with the hot new Dotted Circles embossing folder. What fun designs are in store with this larger-than-usual folder. It measures a whomping 6" x 8 1/2" and will be great for memory keeping projects as well as slimline cards. I love the uneven detail of the Sketched Butterflies stamped image. Great circle combo!

A new way at looking at the Country Birdhouse dies

That's not one but nine individual flowers in the window box. I think you'll be surprised to know this was made with the Country Birdhouse bundle: the windowbox is made from the scalloped roof piece cut in half and pieced together hidden behind the linen bow and the base piece of the birdhouse. Just a different way to look at using your dies.
