Sending Good Luck Wishes

My final card this month showing off the Good Luck stamp set. Kind of a "sleeper set" that you might not see flipping through the catalogue quickly. Sharing a few different ways to use it and other stamp sets: stamp a small greeting across a layer like the horseshoes here; colour a white or beige ribbon with the coordinating Stampin' Blends for a match; add an embossed layer for texture and dimension and finally, add a layer to your greeting label by cutting it in half and adhere behind. Enjoy!

Starburst Card featuring retiring In Colors

My take on this starburst card featuring three of our retiring In Colors: Pretty in Pink, Petunia Pop and Shy Shamrock. This was the basis of a bunch of these layouts that I made for upcoming events. If I were to replicate, I could add some ribbon and emboss the starburst layers to add some dimension to it all. But it was a nice starter card to get the creative juices flowing! Do you do that too, sometimes?

Pretty Bow Tying with Cloud Cover 5/8" Textured Ribbon

When you're tying bows and knots, there's nothing like a soft wide ribbon like the Cloud Cover 5/8" Textured Ribbon. This ties like a dream. To mail a card with this thick ribbon, I would likely lie it flat and add a flat faux knot to it. Takes a little of the bulk out. Check out this video by Diane Dimich, a demonstrator in the US on how to make a flat bow.

Bring on Spring with Sunshine & Tulips

Spring has sprung? Are we there yet? Oh I do hope so....Today's card is from my bestie Tamara Bertram from Tamara's Paper Trail in Edmonton, AB with this stinkin' cute tulip card featuring the Sunshine & Tulips bundle. Keeping it simple, this card works for multiple occasions. Pair it with a stamp set like Banner Sayings with the Three Banner Punch. Love this!

Card inspiration for cards, tags, treat holders and scrapbook pages

I always look at the cards I create to find other ways to use the designs: on a tag, bag, treat holder, scrapbook page and more! This one would be so perfect for little name cards or tags for a Shower, Mother's Day, Birthday gifts. Lovely how these two sweet bugs - ladybug and bee - scream spring in an adorable way. The background is a repeated stamp in matching Old Olive ink on Basic White with Petal Pink. Enjoy!

Gears & Textures collage card

Sneak Peek at one of the cards we're making March 31 for the Gears & Textures Avid Stampers Class. So much texture, right?!?! Love a stamp set that has a variety of images you can use to bring a collage together. As I work with a large number of Engineers in my day job, I feel I'll be using the Gears & Textures stamp set a lot for upcoming birthday cards in the department. In the Avid class, I'll be teaching you how to add the variety of layers with several inks to achieve this amazing look. There's still room and the class can be a kit to go so message me!

Talk a walk along the Boardwalk

Do you like Fairs, Theme Parks and Ferris Wheels? This card featuring the Beach Boardwalk Suite Collection reminds me of my trip to California in 2012 with my daughter. Our one day on the beach included a walk along the Santa Monica Pier with its sights, sounds and beautiful view of the pacific ocean - in January! The label on this card is so on trend with the bundle, as a "ticket". Lots of fun uses for that. Enjoy!

To me you're gold with the Good Luck stamp set for St. Patrick's Day 2026

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Are you headed out to celebrate? Or maybe a celebration at home? May the shamrocks lead your way.

Today's card is from the Good Luck stand alone stamp set which I've used for more than just this occasion but it's perfect for March 17, right? The pot of gold stamp gives a great image using Secret Sea ink and some Darling Duckling for the shimmery gold and stars. Loved creating with this $24 stamp set. Enjoy your green beer!

Sending joy with a Joy Fold card

A delightful Joy Fold card layout featuring our darling Cute as a Bug Designer Series paper. Half the pack has fantastic images to fussy cut out (they're really that easy) or use the coordinating Sweet Bugs dies as with the caterpillar focal point. To do this, trim roughly around the image then pop it your cut and emboss machine to get a clean cut in one pass. Love the colour palette on this card: Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla. Enjoy!

Ewe Make Me Happy

Oh my this is a pretty card from Kristen Hancock in our Canadian Business Builders catalogue swap! The tulips are a 3 flower stamp making a repeating pattern a snap. And there's even a stamp for the flowers and leaves so no colouring in all with the sheel from Woolly Friends. The colours are Fresh Freesia, Old Olive and Gorgeous Grape which really go together so very nicely. Such a great card for spring occasions. Enjoy!

Distress it with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder

Gorgeous colour palette on today's card from Diana Langman featuring Pecan Pie, Petal Pink and gold foil with the warm dark colour of the Streaked Dots. The paper is from Nature Walk which Diana embossed to add dimension and a worn look using the Exposed Brick 3D folder. The gold foil really brings out the earthy tones on this card complimenting it beautifully. Thanks, Diana!

Hello Sweet Friend from Sweet Bugs

So many ways to use the Sweet Bugs bundle and today it's a focal point front and centre. Got this beauty from Joanne Brisbois in a mini catalogue swap. Don't you like the way the caterpillar is two tone? Adds to the real look of it. The exposed brick embossed layer has been distressed with a sanding block for added texture. Enjoy!

Grunge card with Gears and Textures

Featuring this beautiful card at my Gears and Textures Avid Stampers Class on March 31. Loads of grungey texture with the Nature Walk patterned paper, the die cuts and blending brush technique. This card measures 5 x 7 so you'll need a special envelope to send it in the mail. So pleased with how it turned out and I know it will be a hit at our class.

Good Luck Wishes

Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Lots of opportunities to head out to the local pub in every city...but how else would you celebrate? My contribution is making some good luck cards! Just like this one using up some of the 2024-2026 In Colors and Designer Series Paper. The pot of gold is kind of cute in the Good Luck stamp set and for the pot of gold on top, I reached for my Pecan Pie ink pad. Have a lucky day!

Funky cool layout for for masculine, kid or the "engineer" in your life's happy event. Stunning Fragrant Flower Card

Ooh la la! Fragrant Flowers die makes this stunning card! Designed and shared by my team member and friend, Wendy at last month's social swap. A lovely blossoms centre pop-out card

My swap card from February's Team social featuring this gorgeous Lovely Blossoms patterned paper pack. Cloud Cover and Old Olive are a perfect match. Gears & Textures in a whole new way

Recognize these swirls? They're actually from the Gears and Textures stamp set! By changing up the colours to pastels, gives it a whole different look. After stamping I ran the layer through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine using the So Swirly folder. Seemed to work nicely with the circles. Using up some of the retiring In Colours: Pretty in Pink and Summer Splash. Hope it brings a smile to your face!

Clean & Simple Heart Card

A sweet "clean and simple" card layout designed by my team member and friend Jane for our monthly social swap in February. Clean and Simple just means not a lot of elements but making a statement just as shown here with the heart die cut out of the white layer to reveal the patterned paper behind. Suitable for Valentine's, thinking of you, anniversary or everyday! Thanks, Jane.

Bright pop of colour featuring Beautiful Motifs

A beautiful pop of spring colours with today's card designed by my team member and friend Dawn. The dies are from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set and die bundle. Lots of layers and bright colour palette. Consider stacking rectangles of coordinating patterns as a beautiful backdrop and then die cut out a rectangle from the middle. This gives you a second piece to use on another project. Thanks so much, Dawn!

Wishing Good Luck

Who needs a little "Good Luck"? Found lots of uses for the stamp set of the same name on our Online Exclusives list. Cute for St. Patrick's Day cards, wishing someone good luck and for today's card, a reminder to friends that I'm lucky to be friends with you! The technique I added to the front of the card was "splattering". You take a marker or Stampin' Blend and with the tip just inside the cap, flick the colour across your layer. I used Shy Shamrock and Basic Black for this crisp look. Enjoy!

Welcome Cutie with Woolly Friends focal point

Did you get your hands on this adorable punch? The Woolly Friends Bundle with coordinating stamp set and punch, is a hot, hot, hot commodity. Currently not available - I'm so sorry! - but you need to see how cute it is. Coming back in stock around April 20. Another option for this card layout is any "critter" of your choice from your stash. Love the softness of the ribbon behind the To The Point punched shape (embossed!) and a simple greeting. Topping up my baby card stash and this one's on the top of the list! Enjoy!

Gears and Textures Grunge Card

I was really drawn to the Gears and Textures bundle as I work with engineers in my day job. This bundle will be my new go-to bundle for their birthday cards this year! I also love the grunge look of the stamps included and how these will go with many other stamp sets in my stash: Trusty Tools, Ready Set Go and Geared Up Garage (retired). On this card, I did some partial heat embossing where the copper lands on parts of the gears. A torn edge really adds to the grunge look. Enjoy!

Welcome Baby Card with Woolly Friends

A welcome baby card! Always love having these on hand for when a new arrival is being announced! Something about being a mum and a grandma - we always love to pick up baby gifts. Step up your Embossed Layer

Stunning Team Make 'n Take card from our social this month. Lots of texture and dimension achieved by adhering the 4 strips (yes I did an interlocking pattern!) to Basic White and then embossing the whole piece. Just needed a little greeting and some sweet embellishments at the bottom in these pretty shades of blue: Secret Sea, Misty Moonlight, and Cloud Cover.

Blending Brush Technique with Sunshine & Tulips

Here's another way to use the Sunshine & Tulips die. Using a blending brush, I added colour onto a Basic White layer that fit right behind the Old Olive (green) die cut. When running the Old Olive cardstock with the large die through your die cutting machine, the tulips will be popped out. This layers perfectly over the blending brush layer to reveal some pretty Strawberry Slush flowers. You might wonder, why didn't she just use a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock? I wanted a lighter tone that went well with the colour palette and had depth and dimension from the blending brush step.

Simply Fab-EWE-Lous

Oh what a sweet card with the fab-ewe-lous sheep from Woolly Friends. I love a punch bundle any day of the week, and this adorable critter ticks off all the boxes for cuteness! I wanted to use up some scraps from the Perennial Lavender DSP pack so grabbed my Three Banner Punch to make a great layer for the front of the card. Sweet, cute, darling...you've gotta grab one!

Sunshine and Tulips with a pop of Spring Colour

Did you miss signing up for my Avid Stamper Class this month? Fear not, the Class is still available as a Kit to Go if you act before February 28. A little Adhesive Sheet goes a long way when die cutting out the smaller pieces (inserts for the tulips in Timid Tiger and the leaves in Granny Apple Green). This one row gives a great pop of colour against the main layer. The greeting was stamped right on there in Blackberry Bliss to tie it all together. Enjoy!

Spreading Joy with Sweet Bugs

From spreading snow and ice to spreading joy! Here's a pop of spring for you to savour as we wait for the warmer temps to come our way. For this card you really only need the patterned paper which is in plentiful supply as I'm writing this post. The stone and vine embossing folder adds so much textured to the inside layer of this Z-fold card that you'll need to add that one to your next order!

Layered Thoughts with Florals in Bloom

This may look familiar....I used this same layout earlier this month with another colour palette and pretty patterned papers! This works on so many levels! I've used the Nested Essentials dies on the front with a greeting from the Layered Thoughts stamp set and if you don't have these, use what you've got. The patterned paper was 2" x 5.5" with a layer. Super duplicatable!

Cuddle up with Woolly Friends

One of my first carods using the new Woolly Friends stamp set and punch bundle. I think the Dotted Circles embossing folder adds just the right texture t show off the sheep. A sleeping sheep, mind you! My colour palette in cludes Summer Splash, Smoky Slate and Bubble Bath for just that light hint of colour. I used a blending brush with a slight touch of the Summer Splash ink over the dots on the embossed layer.

Perfect for Easter and Spring!

Unbridled Beauty

Going for a monochromatic look with this beauty of a stamp from Unbridled Beauty. I skipped right over this set in the January to April Mini as I'm not much of a country girl. Diamond Stair Step Card with the Cute as a Bug Suite

Look at this fun fold! A Diamond Stair Step card. This differs from the typical stair step in that the shapes layer up in ascending size diamond shapes (squares on an angle...doesn't that make it easier?). This is all from the Cute as a Bug Suite with some embossed layers in the 2nd and 3rd layers. Great fun to make - it was a hit at Avid Stampers Class in January. Enjoy!

Dies that double as embossing folders

You'll take a "double-take" on this card when you realize it's not a die cut but an embossed layer using a die cut - what?!?! Yes, it can be done. Just adjust your die cutting machine sandwich as follows:

Basic Plate + Acryllic Plate #1 + Paper + Silicone Craft Sheet + Acryllic Plate #2
I usually cut up into the Silicone Craft Sheet to get that embossed over a cut look. Then I trimmed the paper down to the stitched edges.
Then I added the die cut tulip flower shapes in Misty Moonlight. Another great way to use a die!

Valentine's Treat Holders for Sorority

I had some fun this week making sweet valentine's treat holders. These hold 3 of the thin rectangular Merci chocolates and a gift card. There was a special reason for that: in my Sorority we exchange $25 gift cards at our first meeting in February - sort of a valentine's themed exchange. Not specifically with our secret sister for the year but instead we pass them around the circle as we read a "left-right" game or story and when the story is over, you keep the gift card in your hand. Everyone usually participates but it's optional. I thought these would be perfect to hold our gift cards so no one will keep track of which ones are where!

Spectacular Purple Caterpillar

Ever seen a purple caterpillar? I suppose they come in all sorts of colours and no exception with this stinkin' cute patterned paper: Cute as a Bug! I think my grandson will love this one as purple is his favourite colour these days. Today's card allowed me to use both a large print pattern with lots of white space around and a smaller print one with the flowers all o the same card. To coordinate with the caterpillar, I stamped the words in Gorgeous Grape. Turned out spectacularly!

Celebrating Valentines, Palentines and Galentines Day

One of my cards in an attempt to really stretch the "Valentine" theme of the Made with Love Suite to Anniversary and wedding cards. I think I'll try this with other colours as well. The dotted hearts folder adds so much to the feel of this card.

Remember that Valentine's Day is also "Galentine's" Day and "Palentine's" Day! The latter is the theme of our office potluck on Wednesday, February 11 as we gather to celebrate our friendships in the department in advance of the Family Day long weekend.

Fab elegant card showing off the Painterly Pears patterned paper one last time

Such an elegant yet simple card to make. It's so duplicatable, you can make a batch in no time. Often we emboss a layer and adhere it to the front of a card, but for a departure from the norm I embossed the front layer of the card as these cross stitch details will do double duty on the inside of the card front. A matted piece of pattern paper from Painterly Pears (on last chance for $10.20 while supplies last!) adds some gorgeous colour then the large greeting from Layered Thoughts. Those large dies are from Nested Essentials. Looks fab, right?

Let's make a shaker card with the Sunshine & Tulips Bundle

Everyone loves a Shaker Card! It's so fun to give it a shake and see all the sparkly embellishments swirl around. We're like little kids on this. We're making this card at my Avid Stampers Class February 24 using the Sunshine & Tulips stamp set and die bundle.
