Be Inspired with Ephemera Packs

Did you know we have pre-printed and die cut images and greetings? No ink required! We call these Ephemera Packs and they come with a variety of images and greetings to suit. Just add your cardstock and glue. I used the soon to be retiring Fully Flowering and Saying Something packs on today's card. I like the look of a vellum circle behind to add dimension and provide a layer for between the flower and embossed layer. Added a few Rhinestones and some Baker's twine from my stash and called it done! Our new May to August catalogue will feature new ephemera packs so keep your eyes open for these super tools for cardmaking ease. Enjoy!

Cute 3D treat holders featuring Petunia Pop and Pretty in Pink

Nope....it's not a card but could easily be a cute 3" x 3" card. This is a treat holder I made to hold Excel Mints. The cover features Petunia Pop and Pretty in Pink with Garden Green accents in the paper. I made these for the Global Inspiration Stamp Team presentations in March showing off retiring In Colors. Do you make treat holders for friends, co-workers, customers, family? I love making them. The challenge can be figuring out what to put in them. So there I was at Dollarama with my treat holder in the gum/candy aisle which gave me lots of reasons to chat about what I'm doing with fellow customers. Love these!

Fussy Cutting Tips with Simply Beautiful

I'm thoroughly enjoying playing with the Simply Beautiful stamp set. While I don't own the dies, these shapes are quite easy to fussy cut around. My tips for that are: use very sharp scissors; move the paper - not the scissors - around as you cut through; leave a small white border as it's really difficult to get it spot on the line so that wee border provides a buffer. Looks pretty good, eh? The colours used here are Peach Pie and Old Olive. I used my Stampin' Blends to colour in but the ink pad and a blender pen would do the trick nicely.

Simply Beautiful meets Paradise Garden

The Paradise Garden hybrid embossing folder is the star of the show on today's card. I embossed the card front as well as a the layer. To add the gorgeous black feature to the layer, after embossing, I dragged the black ink pad in vertical passes across the piece. The lighter the touch, the less ink in the recessed areas. This just screamed, "use Poppy Parade" to me so I added the flower coloured with Stampin' Blends and a strip of Poppy Parade cardstock behind the embossed/matted layer. In different colours, I could see using this for a wedding card, too! So many possibilities.

Pinwheel Style card using up 1" scraps

Last week, I shared an Easter card made by my team member Jane which was a CASE of this one we made at our March team stampin' social. This has got to be the easiest WOW card ever that uses up 1 inch wide scraps. I have them....I know you do, too! To make this card fit just right without funky 1/8 inch measurements, cut the embossed layer to 5 inches wide. In doing so, I made my card front slightly smaller at 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches. The dark green triangles were once 1 inch squares, cut in half on the diagonal and placed pinwheel style right over the patterened paper pieces measuring: 1" x 2" (cut 3) and 1" x 3" (cut one). Assemble so they all meet then add those triangles in matching colours. Love this card layout!

Elegant yet quick Gallery Blooms card

With these large flower stamps, I often like to stamp them without colouring in. This allows the details to really show through and adds a very elegant feel to the project. For this one, I used our retiring Pretty in Pink cardstock with a tone-on-tone embossed layer for the card front and built the stamped image over top matted on coordinating Night of Navy. The image is from the Gallery Blooms stamp set. A super quick card for all occasions!

Painting a message of thanks with Trusty Tools

Ok, isn't this cute? Features a few of our retiring In Colors: Shy Shamrock and Peach Pie along with Basic Black and Daffodil Delight. Confession time: I was eating homemade chocolate chip cookies while creating and left some chocolate smudges on the Basic White! So before finishing it off, I used the Summer Splash and Basic Black markers to "flick" some spots all over and embellish my oops. A wonderful way to say "thanks" to your favourite person!

Gears and Textures - just a note

Oh my lovely Gears and Textures out for another shared post. This one uses the dies in yet another way: adhered to a layer to create a 3D look. I added a wee bit of colour to the largest on which I placed the greeting. The colour paletee is Secret Sea, Cloud Cover and Darling Duckling. Really like how the card just oozes texture and dimension!
