Welcome Baby Card with Woolly Friends

A welcome baby card! Always love having these on hand for when a new arrival is being announced! Something about being a mum and a grandma - we always love to pick up baby gifts. In fact my daughter made me some fabulous crinkle tag blankets to have on hand to which I add a book for new parents and grandparents. Such exciting news! This card can be done in any colour that suits your gift.

Step up your Embossed Layer

Stunning Team Make 'n Take card from our social this month. Lots of texture and dimension achieved by adhering the 4 strips (yes I did an interlocking pattern!) to Basic White and then embossing the whole piece. Just needed a little greeting and some sweet embellishments at the bottom in these pretty shades of blue: Secret Sea, Misty Moonlight, and Cloud Cover.

Blending Brush Technique with Sunshine & Tulips

Here's another way to use the Sunshine & Tulips die. Using a blending brush, I added colour onto a Basic White layer that fit right behind the Old Olive (green) die cut. When running the Old Olive cardstock with the large die through your die cutting machine, the tulips will be popped out. This layers perfectly over the blending brush layer to reveal some pretty Strawberry Slush flowers. You might wonder, why didn't she just use a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock? I wanted a lighter tone that went well with the colour palette and had depth and dimension from the blending brush step.

Hexagon Twist Pocket Card

This card definitely needs a video to show off it's amazing features! Made by my talented Silver Sister Lisa Henderson, it's a really fun card with the added feature of holding a gift card. Who wouldn't want this? The measurements and supplies list for the same layout - different colours/papers - can be found here on Lisa's page.

Simply Fab-EWE-Lous

Oh what a sweet card with the fab-ewe-lous sheep from Woolly Friends. I love a punch bundle any day of the week, and this adorable critter ticks off all the boxes for cuteness! I wanted to use up some scraps from the Perennial Lavender DSP pack so grabbed my Three Banner Punch to make a great layer for the front of the card. Sweet, cute, darling...you've gotta grab one!

Sunshine and Tulips with a pop of Spring Colour

Did you miss signing up for my Avid Stamper Class this month? Fear not, the Class is still available as a Kit to Go if you act before February 28. A little Adhesive Sheet goes a long way when die cutting out the smaller pieces (inserts for the tulips in Timid Tiger and the leaves in Granny Apple Green). This one row gives a great pop of colour against the main layer. The greeting was stamped right on there in Blackberry Bliss to tie it all together. Enjoy!

Spreading Joy with Sweet Bugs

From spreading snow and ice to spreading joy! Here's a pop of spring for you to savour as we wait for the warmer temps to come our way. For this card you really only need the patterned paper which is in plentiful supply as I'm writing this post. The stone and vine embossing folder adds so much textured to the inside layer of this Z-fold card that you'll need to add that one to your next order!

Layered Thoughts with Florals in Bloom

This may look familiar....I used this same layout earlier this month with another colour palette and pretty patterned papers! This works on so many levels! I've used the Nested Essentials dies on the front with a greeting from the Layered Thoughts stamp set and if you don't have these, use what you've got. The patterned paper was 2" x 5.5" with a layer. Super duplicatable!

Woolly Friends Slim Line Card

Fun times with a Slim Line card! This one from Sue Philip in BC featuring the darling Woolly Friends sheep and some pretty spring/Easter patterned paper. Extend your embossing folder by sneaking a wider piece in and running it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine twice matching up the seam. You won't even notice it!

Sweet card, Sue. Thanks!

Stunning Sympathy Card

Stunning sympathy card from my Silver Sister Shauna Mikuliak who hails from Moose Jaw, SK. The paper is gorgeous of course and the Old Olive is the perfect compliment for the greeting and leaf. Did you spy some new layering dies? Yes! These are the Beautifully Celebrated ones with just the right shape for elegant cards like this one. Enjoy!

Cuddle up with Woolly Friends

One of my first carods using the new Woolly Friends stamp set and punch bundle. I think the Dotted Circles embossing folder adds just the right texture t show off the sheep. A sleeping sheep, mind you! My colour palette in cludes Summer Splash, Smoky Slate and Bubble Bath for just that light hint of colour. I used a blending brush with a slight touch of the Summer Splash ink over the dots on the embossed layer.

Perfect for Easter and Spring!

Pretty Sunshine & Tulips Card

Bringing you some darling tulips in today's card with my colour palette of: Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Bubble Bath. Oh how these colours work so nicely together! The patterned paper is the Beautiful Bokeh 6" x 6" stack found in our Annual Catalogue. That one's like to retire this time around so get it while you can. Used two of my go-to dies: Textured Notes and Stylish Shapes. You may not recognize the stamp set right off...It's Sunshine & Tulips. So pretty!

Unbridled Beauty

Going for a monochromatic look with this beauty of a stamp from Unbridled Beauty. I skipped right over this set in the January to April Mini as I'm not much of a country girl. So realistic looking, isn't it? This card was designed by Annie Noel for our recent group swap and I'm so grateful to have a card using a products not yet in my stash. Enjoy it!

Diamond Stair Step Card with the Cute as a Bug Suite

Look at this fun fold! A Diamond Stair Step card. This differs from the typical stair step in that the shapes layer up in ascending size diamond shapes (squares on an angle...doesn't that make it easier?). This is all from the Cute as a Bug Suite with some embossed layers in the 2nd and 3rd layers. Great fun to make - it was a hit at Avid Stampers Class in January. Enjoy!

Sending Little Snippets of Joy Welcome Baby Card

Such a beautiful and fun card from my Silver Sister, Desirée Simpson with so much texture going on: a lovely embossed and sponged layer with small strips of coordinating patterned paper as a background. It has such a nice spring feel and I would use it as a welcome baby card for sure!

Dies that double as embossing folders

You'll take a "double-take" on this card when you realize it's not a die cut but an embossed layer using a die cut - what?!?! Yes, it can be done. Just adjust your die cutting machine sandwich as follows:

Basic Plate + Acryllic Plate #1 + Paper + Silicone Craft Sheet + Acryllic Plate #2
I usually cut up into the Silicone Craft Sheet to get that embossed over a cut look. Then I trimmed the paper down to the stitched edges.
Then I added the die cut tulip flower shapes in Misty Moonlight. Another great way to use a die!

A take on Nature's Symphony

A gorgeous large leaf stamp with coordinating dies and this lovely greeting with a fun fold opening to boot! Thanks, Lisa!

Valentine's Treat Holders for Sorority

I had some fun this week making sweet valentine's treat holders. These hold 3 of the thin rectangular Merci chocolates and a gift card. There was a special reason for that: in my Sorority we exchange $25 gift cards at our first meeting in February - sort of a valentine's themed exchange. Not specifically with our secret sister for the year but instead we pass them around the circle as we read a "left-right" game or story and when the story is over, you keep the gift card in your hand. Everyone usually participates but it's optional. I thought these would be perfect to hold our gift cards so no one will keep track of which ones are where!

Spectacular Purple Caterpillar

Ever seen a purple caterpillar? I suppose they come in all sorts of colours and no exception with this stinkin' cute patterned paper: Cute as a Bug! I think my grandson will love this one as purple is his favourite colour these days. Today's card allowed me to use both a large print pattern with lots of white space around and a smaller print one with the flowers all o the same card. To coordinate with the caterpillar, I stamped the words in Gorgeous Grape. Turned out spectacularly!

Celebrating Valentines, Palentines and Galentines Day

One of my cards in an attempt to really stretch the "Valentine" theme of the Made with Love Suite to Anniversary and wedding cards. I think I'll try this with other colours as well. The dotted hearts folder adds so much to the feel of this card.

Remember that Valentine's Day is also "Galentine's" Day and "Palentine's" Day! The latter is the theme of our office potluck on Wednesday, February 11 as we gather to celebrate our friendships in the department in advance of the Family Day long weekend.

Sweet Woolly Friends

Be still my heart....this woolly creature is a treasure! Thinking great for Easter, spring, kids cards - what about you? The stamp set has 18 stamps from greetings to flowers and various accoutrements for the two sheep images. And a coordinating punch. Now that's something I can get behind! I'm really drawn to these swirly butterflies as well. Enjoy!

Fab elegant card showing off the Painterly Pears patterned paper one last time

Such an elegant yet simple card to make. It's so duplicatable, you can make a batch in no time. Often we emboss a layer and adhere it to the front of a card, but for a departure from the norm I embossed the front layer of the card as these cross stitch details will do double duty on the inside of the card front. A matted piece of pattern paper from Painterly Pears (on last chance for $10.20 while supplies last!) adds some gorgeous colour then the large greeting from Layered Thoughts. Those large dies are from Nested Essentials. Looks fab, right?

Let's make a shaker card with the Sunshine & Tulips Bundle

Everyone loves a Shaker Card! It's so fun to give it a shake and see all the sparkly embellishments swirl around. We're like little kids on this. We're making this card at my Avid Stampers Class February 24 using the Sunshine & Tulips stamp set and die bundle. The die cuts out a full layer but we'll also be using it as a stencil and as an embossing folder. Let's make that investment go a long way! Want to join me?

Darling Snowman Treat Holders

I made these adorable snowmen treat holders for my customers coming to January classes. Aren't they stinkin' cute? Design by Jo did the video I CASE by using the supplies I have on hand: two Circle punches, paper and the So Swirly embossing folder to make it look more like snow. Aren't they darling? They were loved!

Sweet Bugs spreading joy

Oh I just can't get enough of the adorable Sweet Bugs stamp set and dies with coordinating Cute as a Bug patterned paper. So popular that these are out of stock and due back in within the week! Just in time for spring cards. I liked the nature feel rounded out by using the Gathering Leaves embossing folder as a great backdrop.

Spreading Joy is always great!
