Christmas Friends on a So Swirly Background
One of the Christmas Cards I created this year for the Trinity Holly Market. It was a hit and secretly my favourite of all 7 I designed. Doesn't that Flirty Flamingo layer swirl look just like snow? It's called So Swirly and you can find it in our Annual Catalogue. One of the 6" x 8 1/2" embossing folders now in the line. Perfect for larger cards and memory keeping. And I must say, the ideal one for snowbanks!

Let's Keep Autumn a wee bit longer with the More Than Autumn Bundle
Autumn continues to be upon us giving us a very long season which I'm thoroughly enjoying - how about you? While I love pumpkin in pies, cakes and loaves, I'm not particularly drawn to it in hot bevvies so for me today's card has hot chocolate written all over it in a blanket of whipped creams on these pretty autumn colours of petal pink and pumpkin pie. Welcome Autumn and may you stay with us a wee bit longer so we can enjoy your beautiful sunny and warm days.

Graceful Greenery Vellum with Wild Wheat Ribbon - oh yes!
Here's a card we made at a recent team event with gorgeous vellum and coordinating patterned paper from the Online Exclusive product, Graceful Greenery Vellum paper pack. I die cut them with the Sentimental Dies set which has a pair of layering tags but any shape will work. On the card base I used the Painted Trees 3D embossing folder which gives some texture if in the end the treetops were hidden. That Wild Wheat ribbon makes another appearance looking very gold paired with these colours. Enjoy!

Welcome card with Humble Home Bundle
There's so much more to the Humble Home bundle than holiday cards - it comes with this great Welcome greeting which is great for inviting people to a party but also for a "glad you're home" card or to welcome a new family to the neighbourhood. To achieve the light brick, I found it best to stamp off once as our amazing ink pads are super juicy. I've also used the edge of an old gift card to push ink away from the centre to ink up a stamp then push it back. The roof goes on after the brick house stamp. Alternated Real Red and Misty Moonlight inks for the sentiment for a change and adorned with 3 of the Basic Gray and Smoky Slate pearls. Enjoy!

Warms My Heart Easy Layout
Pumpkin season seems to be behind us but I wanted to share one more card from the incredibly versatile Warms My Heart stamp set in the Sep-Dec Mini Catalogue. The woven leaves were arranged to created a layer behind the stamped and cut image. Arffixing the large circle to extend beyond the embossed layer is a way to use those larger shapes in your stash beyond taking up the front of the card. Simply adhere to the edge and trim from the back before adding. Copy this layout with any focal point. Thanks for stopping by!

Light the Year Christmas Gatefold Card
Popping in with a more traditional holiday card. Having candles at the table is such a cozy way to enjoy your holiday meal whatever the size of your get together to celebrate. The colours in this patterned paper remind me of the meals we celebrated growing up: gold and yellow hues with red and green. Although growing up in an older neighbourhood in Quebec candles were used more than just for dinners as our power outages were regular in the winter months! We certainly enjoyed them encircled in pine or cedar on the table.

Season's Greetings from Snow Scenes
Bringing you a non-traditional coloured holiday card today, featuring the Snowy Scenes patterned paper and greeting from the coordinating stamp set. On this card I used: Petal Pink, Pool Party and Garden Green to coordinating with the circle from the designer series paper. The Snowflake 3D embossing folder is a well loved accessory this season. It's easy to line up so your embossing is perfect every time. Those teeny snowflakes finish it off with a little dot of liquid glue (or folded Mini Glue Dots). I whipped up a dozen of these for last week's Craft Fair. So easy.

Nothing's Better Than a warm beverage on a cool fall day!
Are you a coffee or tea drinker? Or maybe both? I'm partial to pure tea (nothing added) and my fave is Earl Grey. Even a latte is a little too much richness for me. For sure in Canada you need a warm bevvie to start these cooler days be it coffee, tea, hot cider or hot chocolate. Many a parent has a "Tim's" cup at sporting events, walking the dog or heading off to work. I think we can all agree nothing's better than a warm pick me up to keep you enjoying our fall and winter days. Happy Tuesday!

Season of Green & Gold for holiday decorating
It's coming...the most wonderful time of the year with holiday parties, light celebrations, Christmas Bazaars. Just as the nights are longer we begin to see people decorating their houses with bright lights, garland and red bows. This week is forecast to be fairly warm and mostly dry so I marvel at those who will get their lights up before it's freezing rain - smart! Enjoy your decorating friends....I'm not quite ready yet but I have loads of holiday cards made. Perhaps I should string them up on garland and call it decorated.

Versatile card layout featuring Regal Flora & Regal Winter DSP
I've really been drawn to creating new cards with the Regal Flora bundle. Such deep, rich colours in the patterned paper called Regal Winter for deciding on the card base and accent colours: Blackberry Bliss, Gold Foil, Highland Heather, Soft Sea Foam. After making this card, I copied it for a Wedding Card that my son Alec gave to his friends who were married in Ocrtober. Great design, right?

Winterly Treetops Bird Card
If you follow me you know my favourite bird is the Cardinal and that's what I see in this stamped image although with a shading in a different colour, these might be blue jays or another variant! Find your favourite colours and give the Winterly Treetops bundle a try. Use your preferred colouring medium - pastels, watercolor pencils, markers or Stampin' Blends to add just the right amount of shading to suit your style. Love this very simple and elegant card sent to me in a swap from Bonnie Creates. Have a lovely day!

Snowy Scenes Holiday Card: Let it Snow
An oh so sweet holiday card for Christmas or any snowy day! Good if you like snow...maybe not if you don't? But the penguin is adorable and you can just seem him sliding across the snowbanks or ice patches. A fun colour combo: Pool Party (that ribbon, too!), Real Red and Garden Green. The Snowy Scenes designer series paper pack comes with two sheets of thow snowflake pattern for a fab backdrop. The tag is from Merriest Trees dies but you could easily cut a rectangle and snip off the corners to achieve a similar look!

Happy Hallowe'en!
Ready for ghosts, goblins, and littles in their homemade costumes? Always feel for the parents heading out on what is often a cold night - sometimes with snow! - in Ontario. They'll need a warm beverage to keep them going trick or treating around the neighbourhood. Maybe a hot toddy, pumpkin spiced something or java stand by. Either way, this card reminds me of having a warm drink on hand for Hallowe'en jaunts. Happy Hallowe-en!

Three cards in a jiffy with Regal Winter DSP
Are you like me and wonder, how did they make those angled cuts? Watched a video and had a big aha moment! You start with 3 sheets of patterned paper measuring 3 3/4" x 5" each. Stack them and cut 3 angled pieces. From top left, 3/4" in to about 1" up from the bottom right (made that triangle on the right of each card), the the remaining pice I cut from about 1" in on the right towards the middle. Then I made 3 cards but swapping out the pieces! Love how these turned out!

Sending love and happy thoughts to a friend with Regal Flora
Made for a friend who needs a lift...sometime life is hard and there are challenges to overcome. And sometimes there's not much you can do but listen...in those times I like to send a card to let my friends know they're in my thoughts. This was a simple design using Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive with white. Any floral image and greeting will do. Make and send a card today.

Humble Home Wall Art Project - where my heart lives
Something else I made with the Humble Home Bundle. As soon as I saw the little house punch I knew a decorative art project was the way to go. I toyed with a bunch of layouts - circles, square, higgly-piggly - and settled on this layout. What do you think? I can tell you the folks at the Elmira District Community Living day program LOVED it! So easy to put together with your favourite alphabet dies (I used Alphabet A La Mode for the slim letters) in in Coastal Cabana with black and red. It's all laid down on a piece of Real Read measuring 8 1/2" x 11" then onto a piece of canvas from the Dollar Store that's 9" x 12".

Humble Home Avid Card #1
My Avid Stampers class is this week and here's one of the projects we're making using the Humble Home bundle! It features 3 of the ways you can use your stamps and punch together for unique looking houses all on one card! The hearts are a darling addition.

Frosted trees with Frosted Forest
For my October Team Tutorial, I played with the Frosted Forest Bundle. This is way more than just a stamp set and dies - you also get a set of 6 stencils to add colour to your trees in layers with a blending brush and your inks. You could also use a wedge of sponge or sponge dauber. So much quicker than colour in with pencils or markers. On this card, my 3rd stencil used our Shimmer White embossing paste to add the snow. Love how it turned out. Enjoy!

Using up Scraps for a Cute Seasonal Decoration
This is the project for my Elmira Communitiy Living class on Monday. Don't you just love it? Some retired oval dies, bat punch and patterned paper helps me use this up a little. The plaque found at Dollarama is about 7" x 7" and has some twine already attached to hang it up or it stands nicely on a corner shelf. The letters are from the Mini Alphabet die (all letters are on one die!) and I've affixed them onto a circle punch shape measuring 1". They're going to love making this cute seasonal decoration!

Peaceful Poppies Card
Another entry for our Team Swaps October from Laurie. The poppies are a beautiful flower and one we think of especially fondly during November and Remembrance Day events and celebrations. While this stamp set is retired (but hey who doesn't still have theirs...I do!) the layered look is very duplicatable with stamps in your stash like florals, pumpkins, people images...it's a great layout! Thanks Laurie for this beautiful card.

White Decorative Trees Holiday Card
On our crafting weekend in Stratford I watch Jane put this beautiful card together for our Team swap using these very thin tree die cuts. How to get them to stick in place? Use adhesive sheets before die cutting. They pop out of the dies quite easily and are ready to stick down. Never tried them? They're a game changer - #152334 for $15.75. The trees are from the Decorative Trees bundle and the patterned paper is Take a Bow. These are 6" x 6" sheets (12 of each) so you have lots to work with when making a lot of the same card. Thanks, Jane!

Perennial Lavender Thank You Card
Wendy's swap card this month featured the Perennial Lavender patterned paper on Neutral Basic Gray cardstock. The circles with the greeting doubles as a side closure between the front panel and the cardbase and uses Spotlight on Nature dies. Such a duplicatable design, switch it up for any occasion by subsituting seasonal papers, colours and sentiments. Love this, Wendy - thanks!

Sweetest Star Bundle in a slimline card
Love this Sweetest Star bundle for cards, 3D projects like wreaths and the Santa and Mrs Claus images. If you love to colour, these are right up your alley! The greeting fits on the star punch shape as well. My thanks to Stacey for sharing this in our recent team swap. It's a slimline card layout where your cardbase starts at 8 1/2" x 7". Your front layer is then 8 1/4" x 3 1/4". Adorable!

Deck the Halls with this lovely gal from Warms My Heart
Team Swap card designed by Holly! Just brings a smile to your face. This is the Warms My Heart stamp set which is mostly all about autumn and pumpkins, but there's this great image of the gal holding a wreath to colour and adorn your holiday cards. Check out those "sleeper" stamp sets you see in a catalogue...there may be something in there that's crosses over various holidays and events.

Reindeer Fun with Hang an Ornament
Hehe...these guys are kind of cute! This is the Reindeer Days patterned paper with coordinating stamp set and die bundle, but what I've paired it with is the sleeper bundle in the Mini catalogue called Hang An Ornament. You just don't know how amazing a bundle is until you grab your inks and play with it. Google this one for lots of ideas...where the pull tab is you - well pull - the ornament back to reveal a fun message inside. A few weeks back I posted an advent calendar I made with this set. Loads of great ways to use it this holiday season!

Greetings of the Season with Distressed Embossing for the Win!
This card was a hit at Monthly Card class this month....it's the embossing! After I embossed the patterned paper layer, it was a little difficult to get that ribbon through the hole in the top, so I die cut a piece of cardstock and put it behind the patterned paper die cut for stability. Perfect solution! Amazing what a little element like dry embossing can do for your creations. And a pretty simple card to assemble as well. Hope you like it!

Tune In for these important messages
Who had one of these TVs back in the day? Remember how they were a huge step up after the small black and white ones? Love how we have some fun retro products to play with! Winter Wishes from Nests of Winter
My team has returned to monthly swap cards at our Team Socials which is a great way to get a lovely collection of beautiful handmade cards to share. This was mine...rather simple but elegant, I think. It features the Nests of Winter patterned paper with those sweet birds and the greeting/dies is from the Christmas Labels set. I added a bit of pizzaz with some heat embossing for the greeting, Winter Wishes.

Humble Home Swing Door Card
This sweet swap card was made by my Silver Sister, Shauna Mikuliak in SK. Very cute, right? This is the Humble Home bundle and some patterned paper called Sentimental Christmas which is a flash back to images from when I was a kid. This is bit of a fun fold with being a door swing card along the bottom panel instead of a full panel. Gotta change it up!

Autumn Splendor in Wild Wheat - Happy Autumn!
Great fall colours for today's card! Gorgeous golden hues set against black. This fold is card the book fold. The left 1" panel is sealed shut making the right opening roughly 4" 4" A nice layout for a large focal point like the greeting on a generous sized circle. This was a Team Stampin' Social card and they whipped up in a snap! Enjoy this beautiful fall day wherever you are!

Winterly Treetop cast off to complete a Warms my Heart card
We made this! At my Team Stampin' Social last night. The background is this cool gold flecked patterned paper which is a cast off from some die cutting I did for a previous class using the Winterly Tops die set. No sense in wasting...I think it made a great backdrop to the gal carrying pumpkins. Lots of colouring on this one and hand cutting out the gal.

Double pocket card Fun Fold with Winter Meadow
An elegant fun fold card! This is called the double pocket fun fold where you can tuck a gift card and a message into the folds (or even money - does anyone do that anymore?) It's a complicated fold...not gonna lie. I practiced if 4 times before going live at the latest SSS Super Team Event Sep 28. It was worth it...they loved it! This paper is Winter Meadow which beautiful shades of Moody Mauve, Pretty Peacock and Boho Blue.

A story of Blueberry Bunches and Bears
Today my dad would be 93 years old. This is a fitting card as he loved to tell the story of out picking blueberries in rural Manitoba when peeking through the bush he came face to face with a brown bear. They were both very surprised and ran in opposite directions! Happy heavenly birthday, Dad!

Sweetest Star Santa gift card holder with magnetic closure
Time to share one of my two presentations from last weekend! The Santa is from the Sweetest Star stamp set and punch bundle. The stamp set has 3 images that coordinate with this punch: Santa, a cookie and Mrs. Claus. How adorable for cards, gift tags and even decorative holidy items like wreaths!
