Christmas cards and heat embossing just go together! On today's card from my Christmas Classics class we're using gold embossing and a touch of gold with the branch at the top to offset the Vanilla and Shaded Spruce cardstock colours. Got scraps? This will use some of the corresponding ones up: 4 strips of between 1/2" and 1" wide by around 3" tall. You know you've got 'em. Just scatter them haphazardly across the card front - embossed as I've done - or not. Then add your focal point and greeting. This house from Ringed with Nature works so well for "happy new home" or in this case, Happy Anniversary!
Did you know? Punches aren't just for punching out greeting although that's the perfect use for them especially when they are designed to go with a specific stamp set. In this case, the Heartfelt Hexagons bundle goes with TWO stamp sets which I'll share a bit more about this week. But here's where I just used them to punch out some pretty patterned paper and a shape that I then dry embossed. Keepin' it simple!
One of the neat things about being a demonstrator is all the crafty people you meet along the way. The Wishes All Around bundle has four greetings with mixed fonts for a really elegant look - not the basic stamping for sure! This wreath of trees is stamped then die cut. There are two other wreaths (garland and snowflakes) in this bundle to give you lots of options from one purchase. Consider picking this up before it's gone for good!
Probably my most used stamp set this year: Beary Christmas. I love critters and especially when we have a punch to go with it. Add a circle, oval, rectangle shape as a focal point and pop it up - quickly transforms a basic card into a work of art. Warm wishes to you!

Today's card was designed by Joanne McTavish and is a stunning scene of Mary and Joseph at the manger with baby Jesus and two of the Wise Men. The die cut of them is from a distressed gold paper with so much texture on it. Simply stunning!

Any shape for the greeting works over a 2 3/4" square patterned paper matted onto 3" square cardstock. On one I embossed the white and on the other I left it blank. How quick and simple is that?
Mixing patterned papers for a focal point works well when they're all the same colours. These are from the Beary Wishes Designer Series Paper pack cut to fit on a navy layer. Lots of layers and texture with the snowflake embossing behind.

A card from my friend Marcy Denning showing off the Walk in the Forest patterned papers! Smart idea to stamp the snowflake image and punch out with a circle with a greeting stamped over. To do this with two stamps, put the first one down after stamping off once then the second full strength ink. Simple yet effective. Enjoy!

Is this a die? No the greeting is on a tag topper punch - punched from both ends. These are a great idea when you want a tag of any length. Sparkly snowflakes and the Snowflake Sky embossing brings it all together for wonderul Winter Greetings. Enjoy!

Today's beautiful card is a swap from Martha Higgins featuring the Gorgeously Made Bundle. A great way to use a non-Christmas bundle for a Christmas card and so rustic and handmade looking.
